Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

I would defo agree with that. Its absolutely beyond normal operaring ranges and guess thats the reason why but gotta have to wait till January for that. Will report back in 6 months 😂

Side note, I'm digging your rear wing. Do the laterals need to be drilled along with the central swan neck?

no need, only the sides.. center is double taped. Best wing available currently on the market imo.

Perhaps the heat is affecting max boost level ie. not allowing x.x psi ? 45 c is very hot
45c will affect the air density for sure but that slowdown to 5.2s seems quite large for the temperature difference especially with a rolling start. Assuming engine and the intercooler are not over hot too. Bear in mind I'm not a car mechanic & just going on the kind of things I've heard so maybe talking garbage.

Well those temps are pretty normal here.. so when would I do a test and make sure it works? The 2 months out of 12 where the temp drops just under 30? :)
Do you even need anti-freeze in your cooling systems there? Try distilled water and a bottle of Redline Water Wetter.

No need.. the temp never drops in the city below 15c in the coldest months night.

How do I drain to old one out?

An observation. I am curious to why the JB4 only has two points of data if not using the OBD2. It uses the manifold pressure boost one and the boost pressure off the intercooler. While the TDI unit uses both of those sensors plus cam sensor or RPM sensor. I wonder how JB4 gets its cam/RPM information or if it just doesn't use it and why. I know more parameters are available with the OBD2 connection but let's speak as if it was just a person who's not going to use it on map one and two

That's a good question for @Payam@BMS or @Terry to answer.

Drove my JB4 enhanced Emira to work this morning. Traffic was light some I could it a bit of a hiding through the gears. Seriously, if someone says they don`t feel much difference t in their cars performance, then think about sending it back to Berger to have it checked out. Remember, each unit was made manually(ie, one at a time). So production error is a def possibility.

I am still waiting reply from Burger tuning

Out of curiosity, where are you located?

You may be right, but I doubt it's that simple.
I wouldn't be remotely surprised if there is some trace left somewhere that shows something had been done.

Not to mention, if you think Lotus and / or dealers don't read this stuff you should think again.

I once had a throwaway comment (amongst hundreds of others) I made on a Ferrari forum quoted back to me and I never quite got the same treatment from the dealer after that... :ROFLMAO:

So I suspect Lotus know exactly who has done what to their cars, regardless of how the car may present to the dealer when taken in for work.
We should all use pseudonyms to avoid this, and post picture of random cars so that no one can identify us! Big Ferrari Brother is def watching. Just traded mine in today for Emira.

In really hot climates, there is going to be some big benefits to be gained with improved charge cooling and maybe water/meth injection I would expect. There’s no getting around it, all cars make less power in high temperatures and I think forced induction is even more affected than NA.

I have a track car (mid engine, NA 1.4l motorbike engine). It was previously pulling air from the engine bay. On a hot day inlet air temps were starting at 50degC and ending at 60 plus by the end of a session. I rigged up a basic cold air intake, fed by a roof scoop (not properly sealed or anything, no ram air) and now I’m barely over ambient on track, about 35degC yesterday. Engine feels significantly stronger sucking in this cooler air. I’m based in China, not UK, so maybe low 30s here ATM.

If it were me, I’d be focussed on those IAT and doing whatever I could to get them down.

Nothing better than meth in Dubai!

This makes a lot of sense. Given your analysis, you’d think Dubai streets would be flooded with meth injection. Could be a business opportunity.
