Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

this is just me dreaming but it would be awesome if the vents could be electronically controlled and open only when the car is moving above a certain speed.
again, just dreaming..haha

- before anyone thinks I am competing or derailing GRPs thread, I'm not. I am an enthusiast just like you guys and have spent thousands of dollars with them.

Since we're dreaming, how about a variable speed extractor fan system that attaches to the underside of the vents to forcibly extract heat out of the engine bay? It would be nice if it had a heat sensor to work automatically so it only came on when needed, and only as much as needed. Something similar to the cooling/fan systems that computer cases use.

looking for more of a DRS type deal for a wing like the jubu swan neck. i can dream...

Can we hear from more persons who have fitted their JB4 and their experiences? So far the feedback is predominantly positive like my own. But would be helpful for all to hear more feed back.

Hey David, I just got mine recently after receiving a faulty unit. The jb4 completely transforms 1st and 2nd gears and it’s pulling pretty hard. 3rd gear pulls effortlessly at most speeds and feels like how 2nd gear used to feel. So super performance all round! And engine runs smoothly with no wonkiness at all on map2. Didn’t even bother to try map1 lol. Anyone still hesitating needn’t worry. I’m in Aus so that would be different to somewhere hot like Dubai or Arizona.

Yeah. That`s been my experience. I guess the one or two persons that noticed no improved performance should maybe consider that their unit needs investigating.

Hey David, Yeah there have positive post for sure, with peoples butt dyno.

However, members with Draggy or RaceBox meters haven't reported substantial performance improvements in 0-60 (~0-100) or 1/4 that lines up with 90 extra HP. The results posted line up with much lower HP improvements. Think you could expect 0.2 sec off 0-60 for each 25-30HP increment added.

Do you have performance meter? If not, you should pick one up they are pretty inexpensive these days.

My car is a nasty lil bitch now on map 4. Lots of snap crackle and pop too

Hi mate. Ive never been a zero to60 sort of guy. In a manual car that involves a lot of unnecessary stress to the drive train I feel. My thing has always been pull out of the apex which is more torque related. I tend to focus more on lap times on track. So mid range is more important to me. And so far the JB4 has provided an ample amount of in gear "pull". Which was a bit lacking before. So zero to 60 is more an automatic box thing. "Off the lights" is less useful to me than "when I'm going"....which I what I do most of the time.

I agree with this statement. My exige 410 can do 3.4s 0-60 but I wouldn’t be doing that on the roads. For track users that’ll be a different matter but for my butt dyno the Emira doesn’t seem that far off from my exige on the roads. The in gear pull is pretty awesome now and reminds me of the evora 410 I traded in.

Think some members might have unrealistic expectations for this type of modification and the extra heat it might introduces and in some cases cancels out most of the gains.
You must live in a cooler area that's allows you to realize gains on the track?
[ My thing has always been pull out of the apex which is more torque related. ]
Totally, get it. I have a couple high torque cars very different experience and enjoyable in a different way.

Yeah. Iv`e commented this before, that my emira now has a more 410 exige(my previous car) power feel now. Probably the way it should have been out of the box. Having a mclaren looking car should have a mclaren like performance. Not a boxter like performance. I guess tha`s what all the motoring journalists were trying to say. The JD4 has done that. Now I want to hear from others if they've had any issues with it that I will have to address. So far it seems ok. But lets see. These types of feed back will provide the side line watcher valuable information to work out what they want to do with their cars.

[ mclaren like performance.]
:) well all the modern Mclaren's will smoke our cars even modified ones.
But ...... the Emira's Look better !! IMO.

Sydney Australia. Gets pretty hot here. So far, Ive only done 10 laps in one session on track and the temps haven't gone up over what you would usually expect. Mo heat soak as well. So I`m not considering any radiator upgrades at this stage. I see how I go after my next track session where I`ll have more time. Didn`t put a clock on it, but it did go quite well though(Touring and road tyres). I tend to progressively upgrade after Iv`e explored the limits in it`s stock form. I`ll go Nitrons after a few track sessions and see what the clock says after that.

I had a 0.6 sec decrease in the quarter mile time (map 4). I think that's pretty substantial. Whats more notable is what I feel when driving around It's like the torque is instantly there and the car just goes quicker easier. So the drivability is what is most noticeable. Everything hits a little harder.

From reading all these reviews it sounds like most people have posted positive reviews on their JB4 experience. The 2 or 3 exceptions that I’ve seen have been based on what seems to be a faulty product or something to that degree. I have yet to see anyone say that the Jb4 has caused issues or serious problems (eg engine knock or worse).

Yes, think your 1/4 mile improvements are the strongest so far and would likely represent a strong 60 HP pickup.
What is map-4 again is that E30 fuel? I recall you posting 0-60 3.2 sec - right?
What was your 1/4 mile ET and speed must have low 11s ??? C&D had 11.7 s at 119 mph 1/4 mile. Did you catch the Max turbo boost on that run >? very curious to see if your hitting 36 psi.

A few more before and after dyno-runs from some independent owners would be very helpful.
