Emira V6 Racechip now out

I have the JB4 installed on my 2024 i4 and will be taking it to the shop for standard maintenance. Should I remove the JB4 before I take it in?

That is correct. I found no diff with the CBus plugged in or not. Unless you are A real techie and like loooking at graphs and numbers, it doesn’t change the performance. I still have the JB4 and RaceChip sitting next to each other in the back of the Emira. Switching from one to the other shows that they both work a lot better that having them switched off. I can’t believe that lotus released this car in the form they did without one of these in it. This was further demonstrated to me when I drove the dealer car while my Emira was getting serviced. What an impotent bucket of sh#t it felt like without a tune. The YouTube reviews were very kind to lotus in this count. Anyway. U can’t go wrong with either. The JB4 crowd are real pros. Their customer service is second to none. The RC bunch have been around for sometime now, and also have good customer follow up from what I found. Take it from one who plugs from one to the other-they both excellent, but deliver their performance quite differently.
If you had to pick one for the rest of your ownership, which are you going with?

Your decision will make mine!

Really nasty of you doing this to me…ok. I prefer the instant hard responsiveness of the Race chip. The JB4 did appear to reduce in effectiveness as time when by. This was easily fixed by disconnecting for about 30 minutes. Both chips performed flawlessly and strongly on the track. I never once wished I had more oomph out of any corner even if I was chasing a McLaren. The main reason I’m keeping g both is because of possible JB4 upgraded tunes FOMO. If RC is up the road from you, I’d probably go for them. They give you one retune for free as well. So if there are upgrades or if u want something special, they do the first one for free. Sorry Burger. I’m still two timing you, but using my second wife currently.

Reading this and all the other threads, it’s hard to understand why you’d put yourself through all the bolllocks with the other options (so far. Maybe down the track that will be different).

If you just want your Emira to be faster, this seems like a no brainer.
Virtually no hassle, and actual results.

I’ll be ordering one.

Correct.

Racechip just released their rival to JB4 - plug and play tuning box for V6. They are claiming 471 hp and 529NM on 93 fuel (UK 99 super unleaded +83hp +92NM). Hopefully this will spur JB4 to refine their tune further. Unlike the 2.0 tuning box takes 10 mins to install on V6. I think 475hp is about the sweetspot for the Emira. Stock feels underpowered, but 500+ would I suspect lead to traction issues notwithstanding reported engine/clutch failures

If this is confirmed on an independent dyno seems like they've achieved a fair bit more torque than JB4

Nice stuff, let's wait for the feedback from the buyers, on this one

I removed. It is 10 min to remove and 20min to add back.

hi folks

just reading through this thread ... all still going ok with the Racechip set up OK?

pondering about one as car is no longer in warranty and have the exhaust upgrades done.

TIA

Have sent you pm, as I might be swapping my Emira and got a Racechip less than 3 months go for it.

Buy 770ks RaceChip. He’s in the UK. It’s no brainer. 15 minutes of work for an extra 40 to 70bhp. Instant gratification. I’ve refitted my JB4 unit just the day before so I can run race fuel for a track day on map 3. In map2(on 98 or 93 depending which country), the RaceChip feels much stronger lower down than the JB4. But I’ll be keeping the JB 4 on from now on as I will be on and off track a bit more often since my suspension upgrade. Would have offered you mine for sale if u were nearer than 770s. Enjoy the new power upgrade and don’t caught out on cold tyre's.
