2022+ Lotus Emira News, Articles, and site updates will be featured here
Chris Harris chats to Top Gear Magazine’s Jack Rix about the all-new Lotus Emira, comparing it to rivals such as the Porsche Cayman. Plus, Chris talks about his first-ever experiences with Geely, the Chinese car giant that acquired Lotus back in 2017.
Although the Emira comes off (just) as second best I think this is a nicely balanced review highlighting the real world differences between the cars. And this was still a late pre-production Emira. I like the ride height shown in these shots and I think the bonnet rubber strip doesn't look too intrusive. Love the comments about driving position, and from my perspective the Emira looks clean and modern where the Cayman is beginning to look dated (both inside and out). Apologies if someone has already posted but I couldn't see it in the latest threads https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/features/lotus-emira-vs-porsche-718-cayman
Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere. Just catching up with my EVO reading and saw Jethro addresses the claims of Porsche bias and corruption! I think he just called YOU 👊 a nutter 😅
Apologies if this has already been discussed. The article is from February 2022. I was thinking that in these uncertain economic times where would be a good place to invest. A luxury company that has already spent a huge amount bolstering their infrastructure sounds very tempting to me. Lotus to float new EV division on stock market Also curiously it has an artists impression of a 4 door 2+2 emira!
Article in the telegraph says petrol car production at Lotus will cease next year. So either he's got his facts wrong or its a bizarre decision from Geely https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/06/28/lotus-stop-making-new-petrol-car-models-next-year/
Looking forward to seeing the GT4 version racing soon. For now, here is the British GT Championship Emira Safety Car pacing the GT3 portion of the grid for the rolling start at Snetterton last Sunday. Photo by Leigh Jones, L J Photoimages 26/6/22
Hethel, UK – 24 June 2022 It was an exceptionally busy day for Lotus at Goodwood Festival of Speed as crowds flocked to the stand for the world public debut of the Eletre. The highly anticipated hyper-SUV was a star attraction. with visitors eager to see the car and ask questions of the many product specialists on hand. The bold, progressive and exotic EV has the soul of a Lotus and the usability of an SUV, and the retail team reported that several customers placed orders immediately after seeing it in the metal. Yesterday also marked the premiere of the ultimate three-car garage from Lotus, as the Eletre was joined on stage by the beautiful Emira sports car and the pioneering Evija hypercar. Also there – in a vibrant yellow...

Article: https://www.autoevolution.com/news/ludacris-shows-off-lotus-emira-first-edition-on-the-set-of-fast-x-191412.html In other threads I've suggested Lotus needs this level of marketing to go "viral" like Esprit and Elise did:
Regards delays. Posted in another thread by @EM33RA 🏆 Thought it needed 'pinning' in it's own thread
First: sry for my English I am from Germany. Every single review compares the Emira with the PORSCHE…. And to be honest the PORSCHE is the benchmark. But the point is, they need the Porsche to collect some negative points against the lotus… an these points are correct. But: The brakes ? Equal? No, little better The dynamic? Even the dynamic is better then the Porsche !!! Quality no, that would be magic, but the best lotus ever made! The engine is old and no fucking new sterile Maschine with no Charakter and an OPF…. I guess the reviews are all a kind of standing ovation, an they need the best car to give us some kicks.
