Bro, I want you to succeed in this just as much as anyone, but if your stance is that everything is fine, there's only a few hiccups with certain folks, you keep working on updates, etc. then you need a different approach...Stop posting updates until you have remedied everything for your existing customers, most recently, Kitkat (who has been nothing but patient with you). Almost all people have been extremely patient with you. Organize your desk (your business) and triage your customers in order. It's business 101. Taking a week, or more, to respond to your existing customers yet hopping on here with an additional update is extremely poor optics.
There are several folks who are still concerned, etc about your product. You keep stating that multiple people are using it no problem. That's great and we're happy for them. But there are several others who are still having issues.
So, ya, us asking questions or voicing concerns on a
forum is absolutely warranted when we're talking about $100k cars and thousand dollar ECUs.
You keep responding with the same rhetoric when someone calls you out...
- I'm only one guy
- Multiple guys have installed it and tracked their cars flawlessly. (You say multiple. Ok, I guess we have to take your word for it, but you have to take OUR word for it when we say that there are multiple others who are having issues.)
- The tunes work because we have our own Emira in-house...(congratulations).
- Issues are only with this ECU or that cloned ECU.
- I'm not here trying to convince anyone anymore (You've stated this multiple times, yet your bedside manner when responding to folks isn't helping your cause)
It's ok that you're trying to figure this out for all of us and we appreciate that, but I'm not alone in thinking that there's no way I would pay for your tune and risk damaging my ECU and/or bricking my car all while under my OEM warranty. Many of us just want assurance that it works.
In my opinion, even if a handful still have issues, your product isn't ready for primetime yet. Again, I would want this product if it was ready to go, but it is not, and this thread would be 'exhibit A', and these constant replies by more and more folks coming out stating their frustrations doesn't help.
I know you've had success with other car manufacturers and thats awesome, but we're not concerned about those makes. We're only concerned about the Lotus Emira on this forum.
We're rooting for you, truly, but my suggestion would be to have a bit more humility in your approach towards current and future customers. Fly under the radar, triage your current customer concerns, and when the tune is absolutely flawless, come back and provide updates.
I've worked with Japanese automotive companies my entire career (25 years) and an old Japanese proverb has always stuck with me since I was a lowly media assistant...
"The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." As a business, this is very important to understand.
