Lotus Emira V6 ECU Tune - Bench Flash

We've been a week away from a dyno for about a year

Correct.

I’m a little on the fence here.
I don’t doubt that what is being done may be a real game changer.

But, come on. We’ve been waiting for a very, very long time for a dyno. There’s always another reason why it’ll be another week or two.

Compared to the cost of doing this work, what is it to slap a car on a dyno?

Why does it have to wait until the “perfect” version is done?

Give us some progress reports that aren’t just seat of the pants by one or two people.

My car is at the tuners now waiting for the final license and flash. Keep getting told "any day now" Original date was March 31. After the flash they are doin a dyno. Pretty stock with only cat delete. upgraded high flow filter, and Milltek valve controller

I imagine the simplest reason is that dynos cost money. Why spend the cash to dyno your car with a brand new tune when it is still actively being tested and improved upon. Better to just dyno when it's closer to a final version.

Personally I really appreciate all the guys willing to be on the bleeding edge of this tune who are putting in all the leg work and taking on all the risk.

Patience is a virtue. Just my 2 cents.

Really only looking for a bit more throttle response and midrange grunt. funny, I had an Evora NA for 13 years and never needed more power. Bought a Tesla Plaid in 2022 and now I'm spoiled for torque. Everything seems slow (in a straight line) compared to the Tesla.
Hoping this tune will be the trick for that extra something.
Sure I will soon be searching for a new pully soon

Part of the reason it has been a long wait to get dyno results is we can’t get our car to give a reliable pull on our dyno pack and we have tried several times, and there aren’t any dyno jet shops in Colorado that will ever get back to us.

The only dyno shop that does has a broken dynocom dyno.
So half the issue is that there aren’t any damn dynos in the state worth a damn.

I'm also currently remote at the moment, although I have someone ready to do dyno the car once we have a shop in Colorado confirm they can actually do it...

Do you know if the Shop In St. Louis (Habibi) can do the dyno. My car is there now. Not sure what type of dyno they have on site.

Interestingly, I'm most interested in the higher redline. More torque is always better, but I think the Emira has enough. More revs mechanically gives you higher HP and just more revs to play with.

I wonder if any of the newer 416 or 420 versions have a higher redline? Haven't heard that they do.

Very curious to learn the results. I have the exact same mods. Would you be running 91 or 93 octane tune?

I have a Dynojet setup about 90 minutes from me 😉

I might be daft, but if this setup hasn't yet been on a rolling road, how has the map been developed?

I built a homemade Megasquirt efi system for the Corvair motor in my Beach buggy, and getting the fuel table correct is near impossible just by driving, and an hour on the rollers was absolutely necassary to populate the fuel table in a safe and efficient way.. what am I missing?

Most of it is recycled from the Evora, since the powertrain is basically the same

They have been doing data logging on the road and making revisions based on that.

This isn’t like a standalone. We don’t have to build all the maps from scratch, and all base fueling, trims, etc are already set and work well right from the factory.

Can it not be mapped from road data logging? I don't have a clue about this stuff but Cosworth set up one of my cars remotely. They got me to drive about for a while logging data and finalised the map after 2-3 revisions of emailing data back to them.

we already have done that. Now we need to publish the results (dyno)

I think I need to post some info here because we have some confusion from customers / potential customers.

If you use a "shop" to buy this for you, the shop WILL NOT get tuning access to your car. They will NOT be able to individually tune your car. Individual customized tuning has not been released to anyone right now.

Thank you.

Also ETA on more of our devices +/- 7-10 days

Dyno scheduled for April 15th. I will be there personally with my friend and his car. I will keep all apprised. He is talking loco, saying he plans to exceed jubu’s dyno for the 600cs for only 5% the cost. 👀

Excited to see the results. Remind us what is his current set up of performance mods? Can our cars handle that kind of power stock long term? Always a mixed bag of answers on this.
