Emira V6 Racechip now out

Anyone have info when Racechip will be putting this on sale?

Price and availability, anyone?

I did not know people still trust race chip. It always seemed to have a crappy reputation compared to jb4 in the piggy back realm. Racechip seemed to offer it for almost every car even if it didn’t make any extra power and some of their hp boosts were questionable at best for non forced induction cars.

One of the shops I frequent... recommended I piggyback JB4 over tuning the car. He had really good things to say about Terry and he told me that he has seen excellent results with the JB4 on track with many different platforms and in many cases they have been outperforming ecu tunes which seem to be more prone to problems.

Now, that is his personal experience but he is a manager at a fairly well-known motorsports shop with many locations across my state.

My personal feelings are that when it comes to piggyback tunes.. I would 100% go JB4 .. I wouldn't even consider any others... I will still stick to my guns and say that if you plan on using the higher maps.. it would probably be a good idea to take a look at some of the weak points across the powertrain/drivetrain and maybe shore some things up a bit for safety, longevity, peace of mind, etc.

I am very interested in seeing what VF Tuner comes out with.. the company is obviously 100% legit ... just browse their website and reviews .. I mean... its all there.. and these things do take time...

WHICH BTW.. (I'm not turning this into a JUBU thread so don't even start...)

You know... you gotta give JUBU some credit guys.. just saying... a few blown engines aside.. they have successfully tuned quite a few Emiras by now with Stage 1, 2, and beyond... it's been over a year. That's a pretty lengthy gap as far as mainstream providers.

Look, I hope we get something awesome from @VF Tuner and soon. They are the last hope cause the ref is about to call it... as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry but who the hell is paying €9000 euros for a 460bhp map/tune whatever from JUBU when racechips give warranty on theirs for sports cars at the price range of €1500.

Jubu is no mere product, it’s a state of consciousness. One cannot put a price on attaining a higher plane of existence..

It will cost less than that - more like EU900

I'm failing to understand why so many people on here think a piggyback chip is going to be better than an ECU tune or a fully new aftermarket ECU (although I'm not sure if a new aftermarket ECU will work on new cars now due to the amount of electronics run off of the ECU... maybe the aftermarket ECU route isn't the way forward anymore). Piggybacks are just crude signal manipulators. Great for a cheap, little tune up, but that's about it. We are the owners of a semi expensive car, why throw on a cheap piggyback when you can get it tuned properly on a rolling road by the tuner of your choice?
Would Racechip really warranty a blown engine due to their piggyback???? I very much doubt it!

JUBU has blown many engines in U.S. based cars due to their ECU. I haven’t heard of that happening yet with JB4, one reason could be because JB4 keeps the engine safety protocols in place as far as I know. Unfortunately, you do not always get what you pay for.

Just to be clear I'm not saying the tune from JUBU is worth it. I've not had any dealings with them in this way. But overall, with the right tuner, an ECU tune is going to be the best choice.

For starter you can't put a straight downpipe with JB4 on the i4 without having cel, and a straight pipe really wakes up the i4.
