For those who really hate the brake dust just be aware, as I stated earlier, it not all from the brake pads while I suspected the OE rotors might contain higher than normal carbon to achieve such an annoyed result.
You can replace the pad and see the difference first; or along with the rotor at the same time for an optimal result.
Its definitely good to have support from folks. I am sure to think of you for rotors when I am looking at some track activity. Might be good to have a dedicated set of rotors and pads.
EmiraForum.com would like to welcome RB Performance Brakes as our newest Supporting Vendor! Please take a moment to visit their website at the following URL: https://racingbrake.com/emira-2022/
No you have total flexibility.
Our brake components are designed from a "system" stand point to maximize their potential while still fit their respective OE counterparts, so you can only replace OE pads, OE rotors, or both at your own path.
Just as a point of clarification, you're saying that your upgraded front pad in the different shape (as shown on the left of this photo) will fit the location of the original pad (pictured on the right) with the original caliper and rotors? So it's a factory compatible pad with increased pad area?
Correct - The RB pad on the left is fully compatible and will fit Emira's OE caliper & rotor - Airen can vouch it for the fact that it actually fits better than OE pad & looks better too
Just for fun - Not Emira related is our brake development on the most talk about Cybertruck brake, the 410mm bbk fitment test was just performed today right after Emira's brake design was all cleared and released to production.
Yes. In addition to very low dust & no squeaking, it provides you an excellent modulation - A very liner brake control (0-100%) so you will feel very well "connected" to your Emira.
Help may soon be at hand from an unexpected source. Talking to the AP Racing guys at a UK industry event today I was told that 2025 environmental regulations require brake particulate reductions. The preferred solution appears to involve the introduction of ‘copper-free’ brake pad compounds which will meet the new standards with no reduction in performance for road-use. Look out for ‘copper-free’ OE and replacement pads from Brembo. I’ll be asking my Lotus dealer’s service department for these when it comes time for replacement.
Isn’t it refreshing when tighter regulations have helpful, unintended benefits? Some markets may already have received the low-particulate brake pads as OE - they’ll be the ones not complaining about brake dust.
Copper restriction (<.05% by weight) on brake pad is a new law effective 2025 in the State of CA and WA. It's an environmental concern rather than the brake dust.
An informational sheet about copper in brake pads. CDA supports the conclusion of the Brake Pad Partnership and its plan to phase out copper from brake pads over a 15-year period.
www.copper.org
...The Brake Pad Partnership, a cooperative effort among representatives of the auto industry, brake pad manufacturers, environmental groups, stormwater regulatory agencies and coastal cities, found that brakes account for anywhere from 35 to 60 percent of copper in California's urban watershed run-off. In some urban watersheds, this added copper may be enough to cause water concentrations to exceed the state's water quality standard for copper. This led to the members' participation in determining a course of action that would address the issue. The Partnership decided that the fairest and most effective action would be to pursue legislation mandating the phased reduction of copper used in brakes....
In response RB pads have excluded the use of copper (copper free) since mid-2021

How is initial bite and feel of the brake pad affected in your low dust pads? Most of the low dust pads from other brands I've tried had far less bite and less confidence inspiring.
I’m going the two set route. EBC reds for daily use, EBC blues for track days. Just put the reds on. I’ll report back after I get some miles on them. These brakes are so easy to change, it’s not much trouble.
