Low dust brake pad options

I'm noticing a decent amount of brake dust on my new Emira, and in the past while owning Civic Type Rs, I've swapped the OEM pads out for Akebono ceramic low dust pads which were insanely low dust...virtually no dust at all. I emailed Akebono directly who told me they will not be making pads for the Emira due to the Emira being a low volume vehicle.

Can anyone speak to this brand or these pads? I realize the OEM pads may be more optimal for track use, but I will never track my Emira, it's a garage queen/weekend driver only.

It’s curious that the link you posted says the same pads fit front and rear. They are obviously not the same with 6 piston calipers in front and 4 piston calipers in back. I hope these work out. When I bought the Redstuff’s I looked for the Hawk PCs but I could not find a match. The Redstuff is just okay for low dust. I run Hawk PCs on my 911 and as you know, they are virtually dust free.

They F/R "can" fit the same pads with the fronts smaller. But the fronts can / should be able to accomodate a pad that's larger. 149 x 86 x 17mm front and 130 x 81 x 17mm Rear. This is what my research says...I've ordered a F/R set and will install to verify later this week.

Both front and rear are AP Racing 4 piston calipers but they are slightly different sizes. Fronts take a AP Racing CP7040 compatible pad and the Rears take a AP Racing 6600 compatible pad

Installed the rears and and can confirm the fit perfectly. Still waiting on the fronts to arrive. HB585's are the rear, HB586 are the fronts

Thanks, just went on before reading the Hawk write up. That was really good thanks. I am getting to the point it may be worth swapping pads when going to the track.

Im following this.

Talking about brake dust and calipers. I struggle to make and keep the callipers (yellow) clean :s, i wash my car myself and have pretty much all the tools available.. i use the (aggressive) wheel cleaner stray and use that also the my callipers… but no way the black stains are going.

I also have yellow calipers on my Emira and I found them impossible to clean with normal wash in spite of them being ceramic coated. I purchased Magic Finish Wheel Cleaner from Amazon ($11.99) and that did the job for me except for around the caliper bolts. Here are before and after pics.

I have the same problem with my yellow calipers.. Thanks for posting this. I will have to try it. They NEVER get clean... and even if I did get them clean, I think they would be dirty again in 2 drives.

The brake dust and grease is crazy.

I swapped to EBC RedStuff brake pads that I purchased from GRP and installed about 150 miles ago. I'm pleased so far with very little dust and street performance that feels equivalent to OEM pads. My OEM pads were Brembo.
