VF Tuner - i4 ECU tuning interest thread

Just wanted to update you guys we have read/write/flash done.

And.... we have CPC reprogramming done. Actually we will be the first in the world to release CPC custom tuning soon.

Wow let the games begin!

First to market typically wins. The i4 has definitely posed a challenge to all tuners given the ECU/CPC relationship. So, it's nice to see progress is being made.

This is awesome news!

Sounds like it checks all the boxes!

VFtuner - I purchased a spare ECU from a 2020 M139 AMG (no cypher lock).
If I fly out to your location with my OEM lotus ECU will you be able to clone the OEM ECU data to 2020 ECU. Then apply your tune?

@VF Tuner what’s the deal with the CPC? Do you replace it with a virgin CPC? Do you need the original CPC to do this process? Is the CPC tied to just 1 chassis?

More details on this will be provided soon.
No ECU cloning, or any of that is going to be required.
ECU/TCU/CPC all will be tunable/flashable.

When it comes to first to market, just look at what we've got done for the V6. First/Exclusive/Only option worldwide for OBDII Flashing and tuning.

Great to have switched on Techs who can ‘thumb their noses’ at AMG/Lotus/Merc (one of them surely) by outwitting their attempts to keep potential engine power suppressed.
In your tuning of the ECU for example, did you develop the upgrade based on the USA 400 hp unit, or the 360 hp EU, Australian, New Zealand, model? Which begs the question, is there any difference between either model ECU’s?

Aus already has the 500hp model i.e. Bathurst special edition

Ask, they can only say no :)

In all seriousness, and this posting is not, (to quote an Aussie expression), bagging the wonderful idea. However, I’d be a little concerned with squeezing 500 hp out of a 2.0 litre engine that the manufacturer designed for their own top ‘sports’ car (AMG 45S) to have only 421 hp on tap. As for the torque, Lotus (Aus) discovered raising torque a little beyond original design also has its limits, when transmission issues required dialling torque back also.
Buuuut, a three year Lotus ‘warranty’ almost makes it sound bulletproof proof for pounding around regular track days pedal to the metal.
I hope it is successful, I honestly do.
Please make it work well, Lotus Aus. A successful outcome is just what our car’s need to take the focus away from the often biased and ill-conceived reputation some ‘paint’ the Emira to have. Oooops, perhaps I should not have used that word paint. Oh dear, there it is again. Never mind, Ive posted these comments now.

I forget which car, but MB/AMG have a car that pushed the ICE only version of the M139 to 469 HP. Also, they are usually conservative. So, the 500 HP is totally possible in a safe manner. Additionally, they used a "Light Hybrid" version (think old KERS F1 technology) that was either just under or over 600 HP. So again, this engine out of the box is quite robust.

This is super exciting, can't wait to see the options and offering!
Really want to get a downpipe and disable that downstream o2 monitor, full flash with CPC tune would be the real deal.

@VF Tuner Are you saying you will be able to do Emira I4 ECU and CPC tuning via OBD2, without having to send the ECU somewhere to get the ECU unlocked?

That is the ultimate method I’m sure all owners would welcome. I used the same system (via OBD11) to download new files to an F-type Jaguar. It worked faultlessly.
The supplier (Paramount Tuning, England) made it possible to download the original files to be kept for later re-installation if required or wanted. Would this be something that might be included in the proposed AMG re-programming?
