USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Was provided a VIN last week and told my Emira should arrive by late February. Now that Trump has announce another 10% tariff to be imposed on February 1, there is no telling as to when or if I’ll receive the car. This is especially frustrating because I’ve gone through this once before. I first ordered an Emira last February but that order was eventually cancelled by Lotus due to the previous tariff issues. I placed a new order this past August (same spec but $10k more expensive) and thought I was finally about to receive the car.

Really frustrating, I feel your pain.
Hang in there. The Emira is worth the wait and aggravation.
I too went thru the trouble of waiting for 18 months, then when the car was about to be delivered, tariff hit, causing more delay and uncertainty. When I picked up the car, the price was higher due to the tariff.

Totally agree. Deposit placed start of 2024 and took delivery 3 months ago. Also paid a higher MSRP as a result and while it still hurts, the car is worth it. At 2k miles and still feels special every time I take her out

This is a very exciting day! It has arrived. I’ll post more details about the overall experience in a few days but I have to say everything went exactly according to plan. From the order in July and delivery at the end of January. Fabulous car. I feel like a kid again.

Congrats! Nice spec too. 🎉

Hi all. New member here!
I have been trying to find my preferred configuration in stock at dealership lots for a few months now to no avail so decided to order my perfect Emira. I've contacted a couple of dealerships in New York / New Jersey area and two of them are telling me they can place my order in March but it will be a 2027 model. 1-2 other dealerships say it will be the 2026 model and I will have it in 5-6 months (around August 2026). While I don't mind waiting a bit, I question how Lotus can accept my 2026 configuration and price for a 2027 model as 2027 could have a different MSRP and options. I also hear some rumors that there may be a "face lift" for 2027, including a new non-Toyota engine.
Has anyone been given similar or conflicting info?

Typically your deposit guarantees a purchase but not a price. In the past the paperwork wasn't a contracted price and remained subject to change until actual delivery. Why not expand your search well beyond the northeast? Save time and money now. There are surely higher costs later.
I will add Emira owners believe 'its worth the wait.' And also, why wait?

Good points, thanks. So I would be tying up my deposit for something Lotus can't guarantee both in terms of price and exact configuration. I prefer the "why wait" concept to avoid uncertainty and start enjoying my car sooner rather than later, but I cannot find anything close to my configuration in stock nationwide. My must haves are V6, dark verdant and red interior. I'm flexible on other options but can't seem to find these three variants on 25/26 models in stock in the US :)

Have you seen dark verdant in person?

I’ll keep an eye out, I think the hold up is the red interior, what I’m going to call the Christmas spec haha. Lots with tan interiors

I’d recommend getting a 25 or 26 model and not waiting for the uncertainties of 27. Especially with lotus, I would not want to gamble on the first year of a new powertrain. I’d rather have the proven v6 that they’ve been using for almost 1.5 decades

I have seen dark verdant in person and really like how it changes shades in dark and light environments. I have seen red interior on black and silver Emiras and picture it will be perfect over dark verdant, but understand that's not a popular opinion (to me, racing green doesn't go with red, which is what I consider the Christmas spec, haha).
As suggested by you all, strongly leaning towards finding something that's in stock as I can't deal with that much uncertainty for 2027. Trying to be more flexible on spec like going with yellow accents on dark verdant (black and yellow interior and calipers). Appreciate everyone's input!

If you dont like ADAS, then get a 25
Adas gets shut off with a couple clicks. 26 models have other improvements, the shifter to me feels like the most significant improvement over the 24, the other stuff is minor

Yeah that’s true! Racing green with red is much more Christmas than dark verdant. I take back what I said haha

Sure, except that it also forces you to pull-over to engage track mode as a result of all the new hardware related to ADAS.

The improved shifter feel is solely from different gearbox mounts. These can be retrofitted to earlier cars.

I was under the impression that they did different gearbox mounts but also the reverse lock out in the shifter mechanism itself was redesigned, so 1st to 2nd feels better. I’ve felt it and the difference is noticeable. I haven’t taken it apart to confirm though

Mine was fitted with the new gearbox mounts and it made a big difference. No changes were made to the reverse lock out.

It could also be that the reverse lockouts are now just being set right from factory. I recall that there’s a thread on here about adjusting the lockout screw like 2mm further forward

Mine’s 2 1/2 years old so right in the period when the lockouts have been shown to be all over the place. Also knowing Lotus and looking at the supercharger stop setting as an example, of Lotus QC (they’re also set all over the place), I doubt that Lotus are now just setting the lock outs all in the right place.

Did they also add KEF speakers in pillars starting from 26 or was this corrected in 25? Not a big deal breaker either way but something to consider. I honestly did not feel any issues with the shifter but I only test drove for like 10 minutes so any improvement to gearbox or linkage straight from the factory would be a pleasant bonus. I think all around 2026 makes more sense even if the updates are subtle.
