I tested this and it didn't make any difference. I think the master only cranks all the volume at the same time. So you set master at 50%, all is 50%, set to 75%? everything moves to 75% and so on. It's not a separate input, but more of an input shortcut. Yes you can push Master to 100%, then pull the Media back to 50%, but I found that's no different than having Master at 50% and Media at 50%. Ultimately the Media is at 50%.
On a side note, my system is pretty well broken in and sounds way better than when I first received the car. It might even sound better after the last SW upgrade? I'm not sure about that. It sounds very good, not amazing. And still suffers when you open the windows due to sub design.
Major issues are still sub design and lack of sound deadening. I think those would make the most difference vs. increasing amp or tweeters, etc.
