No its not the same thing. At least not to me. What appears to be happening is the master volume increases the output of the amp which speakers like to have. It exploits the full potential of the speakers even in lower levels. When the master is set to 50%, you will have poor sound and even distortion in the sub when you increase the volume a bit. As I suggested, decrease the volume from the knob first to about 10% and the sidebars display. Before it fades, increase the master(the first bar on top) to 100%. I have further downloaded the Poweramp Equalizer app on my android device. It provided more boost without distortion. Increased the treble also where tweeters are lacking.

I played with this as well and I have to say it is a massive improvement - I actually feel like there is some base to the music and am finally enjoying the music now! Thanks OP @NE12SD8

Well I tried increasing the master volume from the drop down as explained on here but it reverted back to 50% master volume on my next restart. Doesn't look like it works for me, unfortunately.

Check with your dealership if there are any updates for your vehicle. There was for mine addressing some infotainment items. Not sure exactly what but mine retains the settings. Also, I'm not sure if there is a setting to remember last used settings.

If I look at the master volume setting from the settings menu, then it always shows 50%, if I view it from the drop down menu, then it shows what I had previously set it to
I wonder if viewing from the settings menu resets it to 50%, or possibly that the drop down view is just wrong

Mine didn't hold the first try, but after second time doing it then it has stayed at 100%, even after a week.

It doesn't appear to be available for Apple, but if you listen on Spotify, you can make a LOT of adjustments in the App that dramatically improve sound quality when using CarPlay.

The master will show 100% from the drop down, but when I go into audio settings the master only shows 50%...I increase that to 100% and it's night and day difference. So maybe it's sticking from some, but double-check to make sure that your master in audio settings is indeed at 100% even though the drop down already shows 100%.

Thanks for confirming, sorry it's not staying at 100% for you. I can confirm on mine it's at 100% on both drop down and audio settings. Sounds like an area where Lotus software could do with a bug fix.

Thanks, downloaded this yesterday and it works for me, lots of settings to play with but it does increase the volume.

For the rest of the thread, I`m a UK car, I4 24 plate and the master volume stays on mine.

Taking my car in to Galpin tomorrow for them to check on software updates and the power steering pump groan. This master volume thing is something I will bring up to them and I will report back when I get my car back.

Dropped off the car this morning at Galpin. David will be the tech who will be performing the following:

- Inspect power steering pump that is producing groaning noises when turning wheels close to full lock when temperatures are hot.

- Diagnose the front chassis creaking (old boat creaking noise) when turning steering wheel. David has solved this in the past by lubricating underbody components vs having to replace steering rack which doesn't solve it.

- Two software updates...one major one and one minor one. Hopefully this solves this master volume issue.

Will report back sometime next week when I get the car back.

Spoke with David, the tech at Galpin today so he can update me on the status. He did the two software updates needed for my car, DIM and CEM, and he was happy to report today that my master volume now sticks at 100%. He tried it a few times and it always stuck at 100%. So he believes the master volume issue has been remedied by the CEM update.

Do you know when that CEM update was originally released? My s/w is upto date as of April, so hopefully its a newer release than that
