Keff sound system improvement.

Slight improvement for me as well....nothing earth shattering. Bottom line is that the KEF system is terrible. Keep in mind that my daily driver is a Cayenne S Coupe, with Burmester, so that's what I'm used to (not comparing it to), but even the base audio systems in any of the Porsche's I've been in (I work at a Porsche Dealership so my sample size is quite large) are far superior to the KEF. If you really want a decent sounding audio system, you're gonna need to go aftermarket on the speakers, add a sub/amp, and move on. There are plenty of higher end car audio shops that could make it sound amazing and look seamless.

Confirmed that my settings do not stick. Will try doing a reset on the weekend.

for fun I just tried this in my i4. the difference is pronounced at the higher volumes. the sub distorts...less and I find myself not wanting to increase the mids or treble anymore. what an odd thing to do...more lotus things.

I have possible hint for subwoofer sound quality. When I was doing the cutting of the wire to stop the fake engine/exhaust noise, I noticed that when I removed the carpeted panel to access the amp/subwoofer area, the sub sounded a bit cleaner and had slightly more output. If you were to perforate the panel, I believe we would gain some sound quality back.

I can't seem to get the audio setting to save. I made a profile for this, I disabled requiring a PIN, it seems like the profile is already logged in when I check, but I've had to adjust the settings back for several different start ups. Anyone else have this issue?

Yes. I made a profile when I first got the car. I’m logged in and settings do don’t stay. I have to adjust with every startup.

Revisiting this thread and again - the improvement is pretty dramatic (master at 100%). This is particularly noticeable at higher volumes. Its like the amp is underpowered significantly at less than 75% setting, then actually turns on at 100% master.

Keep trying. I had this issue as well and it seemed to take on the 9th or 10th try. Could be coincidence, but there is also an audible chirp now when locking with the fob. I know each fob can be assigned to a user profile, so that probably has something to do with it. The sound is much better with the master volume at 100%.

Guten Abend!

Does anybody experience poor radio reception? 24 us i4....my reception is absolute crap but not sure i want to swap out windshields to improve it

Strangely, I seem to have the reverse happen to me. Initially the change stuck, but now does not i.e. Made the change when it was first mentioned and the 100% stayed in place for about 2 weeks, however the last couple of days, it resets back to 50% each time I start the car.#

Will try creating a profile and seeing if that solves the issue

Hmm … 🧐 I set master volume to 100% and it definitely helps. Initially, it stayed but more recently it reset back to 50% … not sure why.

Ok, I gave it a try (2024, V6, no software updates since delivery). Previously had the same issues with poor audio, reset the audio settings and it got better.

Now I turned all audio off. Slid the Master to 100%, watched all the other sliders move with it, then moved all but the master back to 50%. Turned on some music and it sounded better. Cranked the volume up and watched only the media slider move, audio got pretty loud, and sounded surprisingly better. No drop outs of the sub., I’m much happier.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I noticed today on a drive that my Master reset as well. Very strange, I’ve had no updates since picked up in Sept 2024. Also noted that I don’t see any “profile” options in my infotainment.

I sent in a bug report to my dealer, who hopefully will pass it on to Lotus. They could replicate the issue on cars with the latest updates as well as older trade-ins that have backlevel software. As it's not a safety hazard it may not get the priority as others issue, but getting in some more requests from around the globe can't hurt.

I tested this today and I’d say it made a small improvement. Slightly less muddy but almost imperceptible

Hi - can anyone give me some simple product and install tips to address the bass sound distortion you get when you open the windows? I've seen the IVI stuff about 100%, but mile always just resets - definitely can't be bothered doing that all the time.

Considering the likes of a kicker hideaway sub or similar? AI suggesting the passenger foot well.

Any tips on a product that won't break the bank (so a few hundred ££'s) and where to have it installed?
