I actually drilled to widen the fin drainage holes to allow exiting of smaller pebbles although larger ones still get trapped. For the other collection spot on the far outer fins, I placed a small screw to hold the lid in place (instead of epoxy) which makes it more practical to remove them and get rid of debris from time to time.

Washed off the grime from the weekend Nagoya trip and went on a short drive to dry off the brakes.

I am not one for modifying original designs, but....
I purchased the mag paddle shifters some time ago (2 years) along with the non-haptic steering controls for the infotainment. Recently I received the latest alloy paddles, to replace the carbon items that do not tick my box.
Installation of the mag paddle shift and steering controls is relatively simple. Just need to be patient and move forwards step by step.
Results are well beyond expectations, the infotainment controls are much more pleasant and precise, so a win.
The paddle ship is a great improvement, even though I am not a fan of the "click-click" gear change. Must be an age thing.

Hardest part is removing the OE paddle wire harness. It's like it was never intended to be swapped out. I finally used a jeweler flat screw driver to get them to release.

I consummated the relationship with my Emira today: oil change, brake fluid flush and new wheels. Oil change was straightforward but I've never spent that much time with that much of my body under a car and I got anxious a couple of times.

The brake fluid flush was easy except for the clutch bleeder which I could not find for the life of me. I skipped it and I'm telling myself it's not as important as the brake calipers because that's where lower temp fluid might boil when I take it to the track. Feel free to call me out if I'm off base.

New Aerie wheels look great but they sure seem to poke. I have the 12 mm GRP spacers but I don't think the stock wheels poked out this much. I double-checked and the offsets are the same as the stock wheels. Does this look normal?

Definitely too much poke. I do a bit of racing and there’s a reason why no poke is allowed in our series. As soon as two wheels rotating at different speeds touch each other, someone goes flying!

Today was the first anniversary of the LDC Essex Meet at Barleylands.

Unfortunately I could not be there in my Emira but there were a fantastic selection of Lotus there - I think we were only really missing an Elite and an Esprit for the full set (at least of the mainstream cars).

"Best of show" was probably the lovely Elan 2+2, there was also a lovely yellow Elan and a Blue/Gold/White Exige Sprint. Along with a few of us Emira owners who were there too - see who you can spot

I live next to an internationally popular Art & Design School. Students knock on our door all the time, wanting to do a photo shoot for their portfolios. These recently came back. Some with a more modern DSLR and some with a more classic camera. Weather and lighting weren't cooperating with us though.

I also got around to installing my custom cushions for the Tillets! They turned out great!

Yep, sold my 2025 Shadow gray in 1 day.....could not resist this new 2026 color....it pops!
