I took the Emira to the Coffees & Cars @ Squisita in Sawbridgeworth this morning.
Weather although not raining was drizzly and a bit grim, so the turnout wasn't as big as it was last time I went before Xmas. There were still 30 or 40 cars there and this time a couple of other Lotus, a S2 111S and a lovely red Esprit Turbo that had been rescued after sitting unmoving on someone's drive for many years and is now being restored by the new owner.
A few other interesting cars there again; there's always quite a mix - from RS3s and McLarens to souped-up MX-5s and Saxos. The Emira got lots of friendly attention as always. Decent coffee served at Squisita too.
I was speaking to the owners of the other Lotus for a while, turns out they are part of the team running the East Anglia Lotus Club - I'll admit I'd never heard of them but they have been active for many years - since the '80s. They are now trying to become even more active to try and push the club on a bit. They seem to be a friendly bunch of enthusiast, so I've joined up (there is a small fee) and will see if I can get to some of their events (in between LDC and SELOC events).
They have a web site here
