Removing factory seat and installing Tillet B10-tips and tricks

I got mine installed a couple of weeks ago. Had been waiting for the pads to give my review of them.
The seat is firm and yet very comfortable. All the pain from the Emira stock seat immediately goes away. I also hear the engine and the exhaust sound louder. Very happy with this, just need to now install the passenger side.

I have a naive question, the seat comes with headrest pad included (default black), this naturally introduces some difference between where the back hits the seat vs where the head hits the pad.

Now when installing additional pads for the back, the above difference is eliminated.

It’s as if I should have installed the new tan headrest pad on top of the default black headrest pad to maintain the same relative difference.

Can someone comment on this? How did you folks install yours?

The panel sets are very thin, It will not make a difference that you will feel, as the standard headrest pads are only 6 mm thick. You can order a thicker head panel if you wish but we tend to keep them thin as standard, because if you run a helmet a thicker pad could touch.
It will not look right to stick the new head panel on top of the existing one.
If you have difficulty getting the existing one off, use a soft plastic wedge to get between the seat and panel and lift it a little. Then use a hairdryer to heat the tape in the gap. (Not a paint stripper gun as that is too hot) Then, once it is hot it will release eventually. Use patience when removing the panels and then you can get them off without damaging the original panel.

Thanks for your answer, I must say I actually do feel the difference. I feel the headrest pad should have been a bit thicker now that I have the seat pads. The thickness of it was perfect when there was no back pads.

I’m on the verge of ordering a pair of seats but have a strong desire to sit in a sample first to make sure I like the feel. Any thoughts on where I might try a seat in the Midwest???

I think you have to let people know what city and state you live in. Then someone who lives near you can meet up with you, like I did to sit and try both seats.

It is surprising how just a few mm can make a difference.
We are happy to manufacture a headrest panel to the thickness you require.

I know there are a few guys in Tennessee with them, I only see one person in your close area who bought one from us but it looks like it went into a different car than a Lotus.
I'll let you know if I come up with anyone you could meet up with

I will check with them and see if they are good with it!
Or worst case we and a couple others who have the seats installed will be in Tennessee for the Lotus vs Dragon event next month.
