Lightweight seats

So today I had a chance to sit in the Tillet B10 regular seat and last week I sat in the B10 XL.
I am 5 foot 8 inches with 34 inch waist and weigh 175 pounds, depending on the all inclusive vacation.
The B10 XL are by far more comfortable for longer drives, if you want to relax your legs and put your arms down.
You do not have to worry about moving around, but is you are tracking, you should get a 4 point harness, but a 5 or 6 will be best.
I will be going with a 6 point to use with my hans device.

From the recommendations of Steve@Tillett and Greg@GRP, I also went with the B10XL (similar body habitus and eating habits as Tracked Emira above) and they feel good. I received them last week and plan to install them as soon as the weather improves. I also have Inokinetic harness bar as well as Schroth 4pts to install as well.

That's helpful to hear. I would really like to get a set but I'm loathe to spend thousands of dollars without being able to sit in them first.

Trust me that you won't regret it! I was like you waiting to sit in them and unless you are skinny then go with the B10 XL.
Tell people where you live on the forum and you can meet them. The seats I sat in were from members on this forum.

I’m the exact same size as you lol. This is great! Did the XL hold you in well?

I am 5‘8 and 165 lbs. xL were way too loose. Standard fitted like a glove but wouldnt want to add any more weight…

I’m 6 feet tall, 170ish, 32 inch waist. So still not sure if I would rattle around in the XL seat.

Here's how a B10 Driver and B10XL Passenger seat look in car.

Where are you located? Maybe we can help you get in a seat to test out.
Your size is borderline where you could go either way but, most of the time I recommend the XL, the extra room isnt so drastic that you are floating around in it. And for multi use cars the extra room is nice to have for longer driving stints.

I'm in Kansas City.

XL might be nice so my dad can continue to co-drive it at track events also, since he's larger than I am. My main worry was if I got an XL, whether it would be too big for me, so that's helpful to hear.

You should get an XL for the passenger side anyways for more flexibility. Get an XL and try it out. If you like it get a second for the passenger, if you want smaller get the smaller and move the XL to the passenger side.

I have a regular and an xl, and I kinda just wish I got two xl seats, the XL is still fine on track and more comfortable when I'm not on track.

Im 6'1" 170lb 32 waist and fit in a standard b10 like a glove with the pads.

Another data point - 5'6" 135lbs 29 waist. Standard B10 with pads fits extremely well.

I am swimming in the B10XL.

Good call

What is your waist size because that helps people decide better?

Hi I am looking to purchase a v6 manual in the UK. Have sat in a fair few cars (both Alcantara and leather) but not driven yet, but it feels like I am sitting on the seat and not in it and it's too high in my opinion I am circa 5.10 and 34inch waist.

My concern is it would be nice to have a little bit of height adjustment with the Tilletts as my wife slightly shorter but also shorter in the body so always has her seat slightly higher than mine (she like to drive too so no sense in having the passenger seat fixed higher than the driver!) are there not seat rails that allow height adjustment (perhaps a switchable seat pad that is thicker)?

I had a F430 in the past which I had the carbon buckets in as I felt the same way as above with the regular seats.

How do people in the UK insure their cars with the Tilletts or rather having taken out the airbag seats do a lot of insurers tell you to go else where?

I don’t have any problems with insurance on the UK. With your question on the height. You can use the side holes to lift the seats but not on the fly as they would need unbolting. You could have a thicker pad made for your wife. I did this for my daughter when she was racing a Golf. They can be supplied on Velcro so you can lift them out and swap them over.
