Lightweight seats

A harness bar is a must and someone already mentioned that the car has a roll cage built into it's design.
After doing my 5th track day in a 4pt harness, I would prefer a 5 or 6pt because it really needs to stay down and not slide up the waist.
This Recara doesn't have an option for 5 or 6pt, but you can always bring the seat belt over the front art of the seat, like I do in my dodge challenger.
Bride seats are also another option. I want to be able to adjust the back when I go on longer drives.
The car (like the Elise and Evora) has a roll bar built into the design (overhead behind the seat). That's not really the same thing as a roll cage.
If fitting a HANS I would recommend at least bracing the roll bar with a cross brace that would stop it moving forwards or backwards.
Agree with you, 5/6 points harnesses are way better and safer than a 4 point harness.
But I'm not a race engineer - you should take expert advice not mine :)

You probably already know this - but just mentioning it...
Be aware that if you get an HANS device fitted it is safest to also have a roll cage or at least some way to ensure the roof does not cave in on your head.

I think this is more to do with a harness than a HANS devices but I guess you wouldn't run a harness without HANS anyway

Yeah ideally I would prefer 5/6pt harness but I would like something that works with stock seat so I can decide if I really need aftermarket seats which would compromise daily driving

Do you mean you are worried about the OEM seat belt rubbing on the hard shell? My car has done 18,000 miles and there is no sign of rubbing at all. The edge where the belt sits is smooth and unlike in the OEM seats you do not wobble from side to side so they will not wear when they don’t move. Also you sit lower so the belt doesn’t drag over the edge of the seat.

I meant that my upper still moves a tiny amount and therefore it rubs against the seat (just under the armpits) which causes some discomfort/bruising. This is without a harness of any kind (stock seatbelts)

I believe this harness is ok with a roll bar

You might want to take a look at the 4-point harness thread for samples of 4pt harnesses on stock seats.

Yeah this is where I got the idea for the quadloc harness bar and 4pt harness with stock seats

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. I’ve never had anyone complain of rubbing there before. Are you built like Arnold Schwarzenegger? That area is quite important for support but if you are tight there and loose at the bottom it could be overloaded with a normal three point.
Did the seat that you tried have the panels in them? Was the seat the larger XL version and you were loose? What is your weight, height and Jeans waist size? I can advise the best shape and size with that info.

lmao definitely not built like Arnie

The seat did have the panels in this. Not sure what size it was but I definitely felt some movement in the shoulder area. The owner brought the seats over from his Exige. 183cm, 86kgs, 34

Ah! well if they came from the Exige it is unlikely they are the B10 XL seats. It could have been a B5, B8-43, or a B6-43 XL.
You are certainly able to use the standard size of our B6 or B10 seats, which would nip you in the top if you were in one of the above. By the sound of your requirements a B6-44 Screamer would be better suited to track work. Make sure the steering is close enough too. The driving position with our seats benefit from a bit more distance between the pedals and the steering.
