I found the drag race
More to do with the 8spd DCT shifting in 1/10th the time and much better acceleration due to gearing advantage.
A V6/DCT vs I4/DCT would be very interesting. Too bad that combo doesn’t exist.

100%.
I’ve been saying that for ages.
It all comes down to the gearbox / gear change.
No amount of power can overcome a 6 speed v 8 speed and virtually instantaneous gearchanges v slow, manual ones.
Totally agree that it's the gearbox. Car and Driver only measured a 34lbs difference in weight between V6/I4, which obviously wouldn't be nearly enough to explain the performance difference.100%.

Nuh. Jason Camissa had a video on youtube drag racing manual emira with supra 3.0. Emira beat Supra.I came from a GR Supra 3.0 manual with 382bhp, and I felt the Emira is slower than the Supra despite being lighter and more powerful (at least on paper). Turbo charged cars have peak torque at very low rpm, so it feels the engine is pulling harder through the usable rev range.
From the dyno graph of Emira, the torque is a very linear curve, so you have to drive the Emira at the 5500 - 6500 rpm to get 350 - 400 bhp. But also some manufacturers are down rating the hp numbers. The B58 in the Supra can 380 bhp to the wheel on a Dyno jet.
Emira is still lighter than Supra. Manual cars are not the most consistent to launch. I wouldn't be surprised if the Supra wins in another go.Nuh. Jason Camissa had a video on youtube drag racing manual emira with supra 3.0. Emira beat Supra.
Jason always ran many drag races and chose the most representing result in video - friendly witnessed in Willow Spring track.Emira is still lighter than Supra. Manual cars are not the most consistent to launch. I wouldn't be surprised if the Supra wins in another go.
