So how is she/he/them running?
So, I had a lot done at one time. Didn't get to drive nearly enough to establish a conclusion on any of the parts installed. However, everything seems to working great EXCEPT...

Car went into limp mode.. one code came up with a check engine light... P0174: System too lean condition on bank 2

When I restart the car, limp mode goes away but comes back after about 5 minutes of driving. Also, tried disconnecting JB4 Tuner but the results didn't change. Car seems to be driving fine without any power loss, rough idles, or stalling.

I'm guessing its O2 sensor related given the fact that I had headers, exhaust, and O2 extensions put in and many others have had issues with O2 extensions, but the culprit could be a number of other things like vacuum leak, fuel pump/injectors, MAF sensor, etc.

I'm assuming it's an easy fix but we'll see..

I had the same problem.. do a smoke test on your exhaust. Mine was because the exhaust was leaking and had to replace 2 gaskets; i got this same message plus the message from both sensors p0430 because of it

So, yesterday when I got the car, I was driving around with the MVC on wide open and then switched to stock control. A little while later went into limp mode.

So, this morning I thought maybe if I keep the MVC on open it won’t go into limp mode. I was able to drive around for about 30 minutes with no issues. I pulled over to call the shop and ask them if it was okay to just head out to the mountains. In the middle of the call, it went into limp mode.

Back at the shop now. They think it’s probably an O2 sensor or gasket. Hope it’s a quick fix and get it back today.

4 things:

1. I think this shop is great. No one is perfect and when it comes to complex mechanics, things do have hiccups that are made to be worked out. It’s all a part of the process. I’ll share the shop info at a later date.

2. The JB4 Tuner on Map 1 is definitely faster (by feel). Granted it is cold out and I did have the header, exhaust, and cooling put in. I’m thinking Map 2 will be more than enough for me. I can’t even imagine going above 500 hp in this car for the roads. Not sure if that would even be enjoyable for me personally.

3. The JUBU bushings caused a very minor increase in NVH. It’s barely noticeable. I’m not even sure if it did. With respect to any improvements from the bushings, too early to tell.

4. The clutch feels softer than stock(typical when a new clutch is put in) and the engagement point seems slightly lower to the floor. It needs some time to break in. I’ll update later.

Hope this is useful info for you guys. I’ll keep updating as I get more drive time.
 
I’m starting to miss the rifle bolt feeling when shifting in the Emira. It’s currently feeling a little too smooth, which isn’t bad by any means, but I like a little bit of resistance. Currently, with both the ESW kit and weightier shift knob, there is very little resistance. I think I’ll keep the heavier shifter knob and pull out the ESW kit plates.
 
The O2 sensor is giving weird readings. So, it seems thats the issue. Getting worked on.

Unlikely since you had the car apart, but check the connector on the ECU. My connector was damaged by water ingress and funny enough always and only shorted the same sensor, after which it would either be stuck reading high or low, start sending completely bogus readings, jumping up and down randomly etc.
This was back at the start of '22 and we went through like 5 or 6 sensors until I figured out it always started to happen after washing the car :LOL:

So, this started happening right after a car wash. Could be the issue.
 
No water ingress, slight leak around the Y-pipe.. some reorientation of the sensor. Might be done in a few moments.
 
And the verdict is….
Its on the verge of being great. The combined 45 minutes or so I had to drive with it was tbh awesome but its currently running lean and getting worked on. I trust this auto shop. Its like a mom and pop with great reviews and good people. I let them do their work and just being patient. I’m confident things will work out. Will update when I have solid info to share.

Terry @ BMS provided some advice and we removed O2 sensor spacers, which removed the P1071 and P1074 codes which are both "system lean" codes. So, that problem seems to be solved, but now there is another code causing limp mode which has to do with fuel controllers .. I believe. That problem is currently being worked on with some back and forth with BMS. That's all I have for now.

I don't know of too many other full bolt-on minus Y-pipe with JB4 situations, if you know of any potential solutions, let me know. I do know that there aren't any vacuum leaks as smoke tests have been done. Things are being worked through and I'll provide more info as it comes through.

Also, excited about the @VF Tuner progress.

The secondary 02 codes will be there no matter what. You can fuss with the spacers and microcats for a long time to try to remediate but it’s moot. They have no impact on the engine. It’s just emissions.

However there have been other intermittent issues with jb4 regarding some manifold codes. Terry can help you work thru that. It’s not about headers, as far as we know.

Sometimes they swap boards. Also there’s a beta firmware you might try.
