Emira I4 ECU Flash Tuning is Now Possible (~510HP Turbo)

Good news for UK Emira owners, cloning and tunes are available now.
The tune is a little weak but still better than a JB4 with much better curve and different options.

How easy is it for a beginner like me to swap the ECU when taking the car to the shop for any kind of service? Do you know if Lotus would be able to tell that I used another ECU and deny the warranty? (I know, "warranty" is too generic, but you got the idea)

Just last week I switched back to my original ECU for my warranty claim on both of my paint blistering doors and it's fine.

Good, does it take a lot of time and/or knowledge to do the swap? Or is it ok for dummies as well?

It’s annoying to remove especially with that metal shield that is attached to the ECU. Be reading for your hands to get cut up since the wiring loom that attaches to the ECU is also zip tied and taped together to be very short.

those 6 harness connectors are inconveniently tricky too.

so much potential for incompletely reseated harness plugs and/or bent pins in the plugs when reinstalling.... ;)

Given we know the UK has a detuned 400bhp map, +30bhp seems a little underwhelming? Hopefully they will be able to do better in time.
They also want £1200 for the underwhelming tune and need to send ECU away for unlocking so takes a few days and tune will be obvious to Lotus

They are partners of another Chinese team and I have seen video that it works.
I asked around about the ‘Chinese’ method of ECU cloning in Europe - no one is confident of doing it and they think if it were possible it would be necessary to open the original ECU to unlock prior to cloning. This largely defeats the point of preserving the original ECU. Was this necessary for you in China please?
