DIY: V6 Manual 1st, 2nd & Reverse Adjustment - Hard To Get Into Gear

Just a heads up if you did not see it. There is a small clip that is used to attach the wiring from the start button switch to the shift rod. I'm assuming to keep the wire out of the way of the movement of the shift rods. It is not obvious. You may have unclipped it when you pulled the center console hardware out. I did this when I did the floating console mod and did not notice initially.
Thanks for the heads up!! Hopefully I can see in the cage to check for that without pulling the console out again.

@MAX FPS based on your initial picture I hypothesize like others that your “plate” was more neutral at first but due to the loose bolt shifted downward over time ultimately ending up in the bottom most position. You can see that your green lines do not match up in the pic signifying that the plate shifted from its original setup.

A previous poster showed the same bottom plate position which just based on the design alone feels like an odd choice to set up the car. I think it’s a loose bolt that shifts the plate and leads to suboptimal gear changes.

The plate screw was actually VERY tight from the factory, and you can see the compression outline in the plastic of where it initially was from the factory in my second picture where I moved it. The green line does line up in the first pic but you can see where someone drew it up over the screw hitting both sides of the washer, so it's a bit odd looking. No way it slipped down this low with as tight as it was.
