Posted in another thread but also wanted to say I'm pleased with the Darkworks Designs Aluminum shift boot delete. I think the silver matches the white interior better. Agree on the quality.View attachment 64556

No disrespect to the vendor (@mr.suntorytime), but I bizarrely feel slightly betrayed that @kitkat switched parts

I'm going to have a crack at spraying my shroud gloss black this weekend, and will post some before and after results. So far, I am just super happy with the exposed look, so my hat is off to you @kitkat for the guide and print template. The matte carbon-fibre PETG actually looks pretty tidy paired with an alcantara interior, so I'm conflicted whether it needs glossing up... so I'm taking the coward's route, and using Plastidip to start.

Alright I have finished this mod and while doing so got to thinking. Are we making Colin happy or are we just doing a vanity project? I weighed all the parts on my kitchen scale. Heres what I got:

Removed:
Shift boot (and zip tie) -48 grams
Linkage cage -301 grams
Small storage cup and liner - 85 grams

Added:
Suntory Boot delete +55 grams
Big Tray and liner (after modification) +113 grams
(2) added bolts for Big tray +17 grams

Giving us a net of -249 grams or 8.78 oz in freedom units. Mission successful.

Heres some pictures of my install. I didnt try it but I think it would be even better if you cut the large tray to fit behind the small tray. That way you still get a usable tray and a factory look. I might do it in the future.
