What did you do to your Emira today?

Fitted some EBC Red pads. Wasn’t overly impressed with the AP branded pads in terms of performance (grabby and loads of dust), nor was I impressed when I took the pads out. See pic, large chunk of pad missing. I presume this has been pulled away because the pads have stuck to the disk at some point.

I switched to EBC Yellow pads last year after a few track days…Way better than the OEM pads for both track and street use. Those OEM pads shed chunks of material - it was really worrying when I noticed it during a track day.

I spoke to an EBC technician at a car show. As I’m not planning on tracking mine, he recommended the red pads. Apparently they are their lowest noise, lowest dust pads and they minimise rotor wear. Not suitable for tracking though. I’ve had a quick test of them today and they’re definitely not grabby and they’re more progressive.

Got my Emira back (once again) from ppf service. It's looking good! And I finally had the tow hook on a lathe to try and get it straight. Maybe it's not perfect, but it's way better than before and totally acceptable to me!

haha mine isn't straight either and it bugs the crap out of me. Now if we could permanently disable the parking sensors as the hook continually sets it off, that would be great!

What do you think of the Reds?

I swapped to EBC Reds over a year ago because I just couldn't deal with the OEM's excessive brake dust. I've been vey happy with them and found their bite and overall feel and performance to be remarkably similar to the OEM's yet producing negligible dust.
