What did you do to your Emira today?

I finally had the chance to test this Ottocast issue thoroughly yesterday. And there's no way I can get it to work realiably. It's sometimes:
-visible but you can't hear any audio
-glitchy, and you can hear audio
-glitchy, and you can't hear audio
-black screen, and you can't hear audio (of course?)
The audio issue is strange because it might start working whenever it wants to, without doing absolutely nothing on the damn thing.
I've tried with wifi and bluetooth and both on and off, on car, on phone, with protective plastic film on and off, with armrest down or up. There's no way this thing is working. As soon as I plug the phone in via usb cable, everything works like a charm. Now I've got one last try, which is a procedure the Ottocast support suggested me, and it involves restoring the internal files on the box. If that fails, they'll do a refund. I'd rather have a working unit honestly, that's unfortunate.
Yeah unfortunate, but many thanks for sharing your experience anyway as it helps our fellow forum members. I suspect that these dongles, like with most electronics, are a work in progress and should continue to improve over time, but it could also be due to incompatibility with the Emira's system rather than glitches of the dongle itself. Who knows...

I finally ordered my V6 SE manual after 3 years of waiting for the right time! Should be here around spring (next year ;)), cant wait!

Washed the car, and decided to drive out to the bay for an ice cream. Parked at the shop and went in for ice cream. When I came out I saw a man burst out of the restaurant next door to look at the car. Mid-50s, blue collar guy, a little on the heavy side, but excited like a kid. He then asked if it was mine, and whether he could take pictures (sure).

He said he'd waited for 30 years to see one, and he thought it might be another 30 before he saw another. Knew exactly what it was, and all about the racing history. While he was taking pictures his partner came out and told him his fries were getting cold. He thanked me and went back in, saying it was the closest he'd ever come to having one.

Snapped a picture. Amazing what this car does to people.

Sorry, I may have missed this but why are you using it on an Emira? I must admit I am using one of our Audi TT. The first time worked like a charm, the second time...
Long story short, the wireless CarPlay in my Emira is finicky to say the least. It only works when using a cable. Problem is, I'm waiting to fit the wireless charging tray by Silent Cilantro, and that means no way of plugging in via usb cable. So I'm looking for a realiable way to connect wirelessly, without using the non working wireless Emira system.

and that means no way of plugging in via usb cable.

Although it would defeat the purpose of the wireless charger, you can still connect your phone to the factory usb port, my kit doesn't use any of the usb ports in the car.

Even though the CarPlay implementation in our cars is not the best, it should be usable. Is your completely broken? Have you tried talking to your dealer about it?
