What did you do to your Emira today?

The usb cable works pretty well. It's just not convenient, not to mention that by using the wireless tray by Silent Cilantro (which is stuck at the italian customs btw), it's just not an option since the central usb is not suitable for CarPlay. Or maybe I'm missing some alternative option?
I'm just surprised that you find it worse than the USB cable connection. You lock your doors (and reboot the system) every time you get out of the car, right? The OTTOCAST unit will need a few seconds to boot up after power starts to flow to the USB port.
One thought: did you happen to disable the Bluetooth and/or Wireless functions in the car when you were struggling with the wired connection?

Dinner by the riverside, couldn't help but to take a photo when I looked back!

Washed off some squashed bugs, but couldn't take any pictures because it started to rain again. Looking forward to better weather over the weekend.

Yes I do lock the doors every time I get out of the car, and surely I give the Ottocast all the time it needs to boot up. I did disable the bluetooth and wireless functions in the car, but that was the first time I tried the wired connection. It did not work straight away, so I disabled the wireless functions and then the wired connection started working without any issue. Today, after noticing that the Ottocast wasn't working properly (it does connect to the phone and the car, but the actual streaming/functions are bugged), I went checking to make sure the wireless and bluetooth functions of the car were disabled. How do you think having disabled the wireless functions may affect the Ottocast, since it's wired?

Finally had detailer put on ceramic coat: 16 months and ~14,000km (8,700 miles) later, just in time to park it for the winter months. Same detailer did total wrap right after car purchased but said to wait a year for ceramic coat, for best results. Detailer also cleaned/treated interior n/c so I left a $200 tip, with car looking brand new again. Detailer said car received many compliments while in its shop. Surprisingly, 2 of their younger employees correctly ID'd it as a Lotus Emira right away. It turns out the Emira is their car choice when gaming, due to its weight to HP ratio (see below). Who knew?

Looks beautiful. TIL that Emira is features in a racing sim. Might help during those dreary winter months.

Anyone know of other racing sims featuring our Lotus?

Let's try enabling those functions and see if it makes a difference. Mine are enabled.

Hoping @Andrew25 can figure out what's causing the connectivity and image quality issues. Seems like yours is working fine which makes it odd that his is not, presuming you both have the same Ottocast model. I was looking forward to this solution as my wireless CarPlay connectivity is pretty temperamental too.

Mine is an older model, but shouldn't be that different. I am, however, using Android Auto. Apple CarPlay may have a different set of issues, some of which may be iOS version dependent.

Canyon run on Sunday. I'm reminded just how good this car feels accelerating out of corners. The grip, balance, torque and sound- it all works very well.

Should make for some fun social media posts :ROFLMAO:
The Germans love their cars. I've been pulled over all three times I've entered Germany so far. Singled out from the other cars so they can get a better look at the car. At least I assume that's what it is - and not that I just look like a dodgy smuggler or something.

I've also been pulled over at a few other borders (Swiss, Danish, Norwegian) and often end up talking about the car with them.

I was in France and my friend got pulled over in his Ariel Atom. It started with 'Can I see your driving licence?' and instantly moved on to 'How fast is this?' 😄

I finally had the chance to test this Ottocast issue thoroughly yesterday. And there's no way I can get it to work realiably. It's sometimes:
-visible but you can't hear any audio
-glitchy, and you can hear audio
-glitchy, and you can't hear audio
-black screen, and you can't hear audio (of course?)
The audio issue is strange because it might start working whenever it wants to, without doing absolutely nothing on the damn thing.
I've tried with wifi and bluetooth and both on and off, on car, on phone, with protective plastic film on and off, with armrest down or up. There's no way this thing is working. As soon as I plug the phone in via usb cable, everything works like a charm. Now I've got one last try, which is a procedure the Ottocast support suggested me, and it involves restoring the internal files on the box. If that fails, they'll do a refund. I'd rather have a working unit honestly, that's unfortunate.

Sorry, I may have missed this but why are you using it on an Emira? I must admit I am using one of our Audi TT. The first time worked like a charm, the second time...
