What did you do to your Emira today?

My Emira is in Tokyo and I am in USA now. So there is nothing I can do. JUBU swan neck looks great!

Took my Emira to the Goodwood Festival of Speed (day 1) and parked in the performance parking section! Great day but very hot!!

Got it booked in to have another look at this front end creaking that was happening this time last year. It only happens when it's hot enough. Car is now out of warranty but I reported the problem before it expired. Fingers crossed Lotus agree to cover it. Hopefully we can find the cause this time around. 🤞 Video for those who are curious is attached. I can feel it coming through the cabin.

This procedure totally fixed the creaking I was getting on my I4 and I’m pretty sure the front structure is identical to the V6. Sounded like it was coming from inside the dash, sort of to the right and left side, would hear it on bigger bumps. My car was 23 production, I’m pretty sure they all do this to some extent if nothing has been applied in that area.

I had something similar to this. I normally drive on smooth roads, but happened to come across a section where road work was being done, and the surface was choppy. I heard something rattling in the dash area above the steering wheel. When I got home I was going to try and find it, but first i was wiping the bugs off the front hood when I heard it again. Turns out it was one of the little L shaped brackets that holds the hood down at the base of the windshield. It had worked itself loose somehow. I tightened it down and that was it. The rattle was gone.

Mine is in for its annual service and to investigate a clicking/creaking noise from the front (sounds like a dashboard creak). The creaking has been acknowledged , apparently it is coming from the front subframe. They have told me they will renew the subframe bolts and clean the threaded sections.

Sounds like pretty much what they did on mine. Please share the results, in the thread on the subject: https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/dash-chassis-creaking-sounds-fixed-by-galpin-dealer-tech.7802/

I went on a 3h drive on fantastic swiss roads with a friend and his 997.1 GT3. We switched cars. The Emira makes so much more fun and has a lot more punch as you cant rev the Gt3 out on public roads. Glad when we switched back. Switching back I realized how light the clutch in the Emira is. Felt like I pushed without any resistance after driving the GT3. That was the only thing I liked better in the GT3. Somehow the clutch being so light feels kind of „cheap“/flimsy. Other than that, I would never swap. Emira looks better, has more punch, sounds better, throttle response while „blipping“ felt also better, even the manual transmission I liked better in the Emira. Shifter is also a lot closer to the steering wheel. I know, the 997.1 is an almost 20 year old car. Nonetheless it was the benchmark back than and the Emira is so much more fun (for me). I’d probably feel different driving on the track.
1.5 months and 2200km in and still very happy! I love this car and to rev it out with the screaming supercharger!

The emira clutch feels heavy to me but matches the shifting action which is also more effortful.

I had no idea the 997 GT3 clutch was heavier. I would have expected the opposite.

Either way two great cars to enjoy!

Yes, the shifting action in the emira was more effortful than the GT3s. But the clutch, that is on another level, I felt like pushing through a cake switching back to the Emira. The GT3 was a workout for your left leg.

New BFI shifter knobs installed last week. Drove around with the new knob and really enjoyed this so far.

Would be interesting to read what your friend said about the Emira, too! :)

Heavy clutch I also had the "pleasure" to use once in a Cayman GT4. Astonishingly heavy, after I moved back to my M2 I almost kicked the clutch pedal through the bottom.

But to be honest, you don't need it that heavy. More important for me is how good I can modulate the clutch at the slipping/gripping point.

He said he liked it and it was one of the better sportscars he has driven out of a few. However seeing his reaction I think he liked his GT3 more. So different are the opinions I guess.

Thought I'd paint my supercharger in red crackle, but I don't think I like it. It's a spare one, so was just for a test. Maybe I'll gloss red instead, what do you all think
🤔
