If ventilation of some sort, does it pull air into or out from the cabin?

First time I've seen one with the frunk open, assume access is reasonable easy to allow for fluid checks?

It's held by 3 captive bolts along the windscreen edge. Should only need access for annual maintenance. Oil dipstick and washer fluid are in the rear engine bay.
