Nitron Coilover Install Day

The immediate impression was that it rode just as smoothly, but was more compliant and stayed extremely flat in the corners now, compared to before, with an extreme lean...Granted, I had the touring setup, but it was pretty bad!
I’m on the same boat with my touring suspension. Trying to kill that off-road lift and do exactly what you described. Thanks for the feedback.

I should have noted earlier that we went with an initial shock setting of 18, they come at 10, which is a stiffer dampening setting. I can see myself going down a click or two to firm it up just a tad more, but this is a pretty simple thing... It's just getting to the dials that may be tricky, but I do not believe it's impossible at all! I really have no idea what two clicks would provide, so maybe it will be more, or maybe only one.

I cannot tell a difference. Drop that thing another inch!
It's mostly a lighting issue; it does look much better in person, but I agree it could go down a bit more. We only lowered it 1/2 an inch, so NOT a lot!

Thanks for the alignment specs and the pics. Honestly, though, it doesn't look like you lowered the car at all...at least from the pics. Needs another .5-.75" inches baby!!!

I get it, and do not disagree....not 100% satisfied at all, but the day was long, and by the time they finally finished, I just needed to get the F home.

Are you lowered? If so, can you send a picture and a measurement from the ground up to the center of the wheel, then up to the bottom of the fender?

I hear ya. Good news is, they are really easy to adjust at home, so if you have a lift or quickjacks readily available to you...or even some jackstands, you can probably adjust them in a couple of hours.

Considering doing that, I am more than capable, but I have to go back anyway for an alignment issue. So going to take care of the shock, height, and alignment all at once, like I was planning for at first.

Now tHIS is the correct ride hight.

Please share your measurement from the ground, straight up the center of your wheel to the bottom edge of the fender front and rear.

Will do when I get back to Australia. Am O/S currently. Btw, no scrapes anywhere…and I’ve got a really nasty driveway.

I am awaiting my R1's to arrive in a couple weeks actually. Just have lowering cups on now. Front will stay about the same, rear will drop a bit more.

This is about what I'm going to set my ride height too. Basically one index finger gap. I'm going to be running aggressive offsets (F: +45, R: +40) with my new wheels so I want a tight, flush stance. I won't be running any body kits so I avoid too much scraping.

I have new wheels on the way as well, so I plan to wait till those are installed before making further changes. It is 100% coming down more, though, at least another 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch. My offsets are ET45 front and 50 rear.

Correct for who? Stance Nation? Racers? ;)

Jeff asked for a 1/2" drop due to a steep driveway he has to deal with. The 'correct' ride height for STREET car depends on what obstacles and road conditions a car needs to negotiate. Going too low is problematic, IMHO.

I think this drop is prudent yet still looks great. I hate scraping!
