I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of coilovers but wanted some feedback from people who run either the Ohlins TTX 3 ways (track sport maybe) vs the Nitron R3 Clubsports. It’s a bit of a price difference but the Ohlins also include new top mounts, so I guess that’s probably factoring in $1000 based on Darkworks cost for the front mounts.

Who has experience with either? Thoughts?

Anyone selling a used set?

The dark works front top mounts are much nicer quality than the Jubu mounts, but they also have some different functionality.

I’d like to see some feedback from an R3 owner that doesn’t have any clunking sound or has had it solved.

Clunking? I’ve yet to read anything about that and I think I’ve gone through every thread.

Not sure on the r3's but on my r1's I improved the clunking noise by changing the valving. Turns out the shims close to the piston were too thick which slap off the surface under damper direction changes. This causes a sound as if one of the shock mounts is loose. For the rest of the shims, a more gradual taper throughout the range improved things too. Crazy how such small parts can have such a big effect.

That would be crazy to get wrong on the shim stack!

Also look into the Modal M3s... ;)
I was/have been but at 7k and a new player to the market I feel like spending 7.5k on TTX 2 ways makes more sense. It also shouldn’t matter but they aren’t visually appealing like the other options, lol.

Fair enough, they are expensive, but they're not new to the market. My M1s have blown me away so far.

I was reading your comments about them. I’m sure they definitely are great, no doubt. It’s only uphill from stock set up, just hard to justify the cost of the M3s. I know you didn’t want to keep waiting for Nitrons, lucky me Ohio winter starts very soon so I have 4-5 months to wait if I go that route anyways
