NEW! Lightweight Batteries Available -- I4 compatible!

I have the v6, was looking at the antigravity battery. This looks like about the same weight but half the price. Could someone explain the difference between the two batteries?

Have not test fit in an Evora but it may be a slightly tight fit, the battery box area is a hair shorter and usually we sell the T6 size for those which is about 1/4” shorter iirc. These batteries are not made in that size. (I will triple check myself tomorrow)

Thanks so much for the info, Greg. I guess sending one to Australia will be out of the question both financially and air transport regulation wise. Should that be the case, would you kindly provide the details so those on this side of the world could obtain one locally. If you prefer to direct message me, I’m happy. Thanks so much.

Mainly the chemistry difference (sodium ion vs lithium) is why they can make this so cheap, and still half the weight of ye olde AGM. For a starter battery in the Emira, I would definitely jump on one of these if I did not already have a LiFePo. I would even get one for the family car if I could find a UK supplier.

I’ve been using the battery for a bit now and so far so good. Only thing I noticed is if I try to use a 12v tire pump with ignition on only (not engine on), car quickly says low power and shutting down. No idea if this would happen with the stock AGM battery. No issues starting though.

If anyone does get the Ancel BM200, please post your custom profile to monitor the sodium ion battery properly, I need one. 😅
FYI most modern cars will get unhappy in that scenario, because the battery voltage will sag during heavy accessory draw like that without the alternator supporting the system. It's not good for the electronics either.

I would switch to a battery powered compressor, or only use it with the car running.

Sodium battery has less energy density than Lithium so it makes a GREAT starting battery or battery which is being actively charged but is easily depleted. Here is a graph of constant drain output. Lithium battery has stable output until almost completely depleted which is why it makes for a good storage battery which has only intermittent charging, ie electric car
