Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

Had some pretty good power gains from Map 1 with a friend's car yesterday on JB4 on a dynapack yesterday.

Had some trouble getting the car into test mode initially but the car gained 57.9whp and 33.7 lb-ft over stock and all he has is a valve controller.

Oddly map 2 with ACN91 + boostane shot did not produce any results 🤷‍♂️, maybe the car was heat soaked by then or maybe something was wrong. It's a little strange because on my car map 1 is pretty subtle but map 2 is wild.

Thank you @mr.suntorytime for the exceptionally well designed bracket AND for doing the install on my car. Class act gentleman! If there is anybody local that is interested, a drive to Venice while a haul for some... may well be worth your time! 45 min of install time of the module followed by a quick spin in the neighborhood. Then another 30 min or so to install the bracket followed once again by a hot lap to capture the log. He showed me how to use the app and how to email the log to Burger. Again, totally cool experience.

I couldn't help but doing a map 1 run up/down Latigo Canyon on the way back to the SF Valley (drive down PCH from Venice to Malibu was a complete bummer however).

Final stop in Van Nuys to get some 91/100 octane gax mixture done to switch to map 2. Didn't get it past 4k RPM but it's been sitting in the garage begging for me to take her out. Hopefully will get her back up the canyons this weekend.
Have you tried mixing 100 octane gas and using Map 2 yet? Curious the results vs true 93.

Funny you ask as I was wondering about that too. Maybe a question for Burger?

Given Map 2 is at 93 octane, not sure if results would be negligible if you put 100 at map 2.

I meant mixing 100 octane with 91 octane to get to an average of 93 octane to use map 2. I think it’s like 2 gallons of 100 to get to 93. There are calculators out there.

I believe JB4 ( Burger ) just added a couple of gallons of ethanol to 91 octane to get to 93 octane. You could certainly add a couple gallons of 100 unleaded to 91. Ethanol ( E98 ) has an approximate octane of 105.

Yes, that was the scenario I was describing in my original post. 100/91 mixed at a ratio I had looked up to come close to 93 for map 2.

Was this a V6 or an i4? I didn't see any big gains on my V6. Map 1 is pretty subtle like you say, although there is a nice lift in torque at the lower rpms.

For the US, roughly 3.4 gallons of 100 octane + filling the remaining tank with 91 will give you 93. I use 4 gallons of 100 just to make it easy and to err on going slightly over 93 than under. This is what I use when I want to be running map2, and it is noticeably different than map1.

The Emira manual warns against using the additives in certain octane boosters, methanol, and ethanol beyond a certain % so use at your own risk.

Your friend sounds neat :)

OK. total noob question here. If you need 4 gallons on 100, can I just wait until I'm half empty, then go load up 4 gallons of 100 and top it off with 91 and be good? OR for some reason do I need to go to empty and then load 100 first and then the rest 91. I don't really know how the filling process influences the mix and the burning when the gas is actually used...

Over here, it's a regulated substance, but there is a process to procure it in small volumes (99.9% pure stuff, plastic bags and straws not included).

Yes.

And the closest station to us that sells 100 is in Fullerton at W. Commonwealth and S. Gilbert. It’s 9.99/gal.
