looks like it can get there in $4k-5k mods, maybe less?

I agree and if you compare the graph closely you can see both hp and torque are lower than oem in the lower range. Also it has a nasty iratic curve for the torque.
There is no way I would touch a power upgrade that didn’t have an associated map and preferably a custom ecu. No way would Komotec or JUBU release an upgrade with that torque curve.
