Emira Fiend
Do we know that this will be a recall? I've been hand washing my car and not taking it out into the rain to try and not have issues, but would like this "fix" to be applied so that I don't have to worry about it.
Are you an early or recent production car?Yep, my car is affected, which is why I have not been able to go pick it up. I am glad Lotus of NJ did a thorough inspection of the car instead of delivering it with problems. I hope the parts come soon so they can fix my car.
My sales guy has been keeping me up to date. Makes all the difference in the world while I wait.
Oh, my car also has non functional power steering, but that's a different thread…
My car is in the 1600s, so probably December/January build. Are you an early or recent production car?

Once I get my car, I'm thinking of washing it a lot or exposing to water to induce the issue. I want my car to be reliable in the rain and I don't want to fix this issue after the warranty period is up.

We're seeing NA cars with issues known since the early months, so this is exactly what’s happening.Get the cars built and shipped out ASAP. We'll deal with issues later...
I didn't experience these issues directly. My dealer caught them as they were prepping the car for delivery. The AC doesn't work - not blowing air, and there is a lack of power steering. What issues were you experiencing?
Mine is at the dealer now as the AC stuff is supposedly fixed (resistor), but they are now chasing an evaporation related CEL. I absolutely do not understand how some (even earlier) cars can be just fine and others have issues at delivery. Did they change the resistor, or did they change the assembly process? Seems if you have a water issue and they are all assembled the same way, you would see this on every car. Especially when the car is developed in a country known for crappy weather. Mine is 11/23 build date...got the car in the middle of March.I’d like to know if and when this fix was applied at the factory… like, what date did they realize it’s better to apply a rain shield and waterproof electrical to production instead of eventually having 2000 cars recalled. Cuz… does Geely have Toyota money to be to be fixing all these cars??

I also question how does Lotus relay this information to the US dealers? For example... when I questioned the new updated resistor design I was told there is not an updated part...then they talk to the actual service tech and he says "Yes the new part is different than the one from the factory". This made me feel better that I was getting the new version, but you would think the rest of the department would have been able to relay that there is an update.
They may not have like me saying "I read it on the internet" but some of you guys have had your cars for over a year and closer to the actual factory so I believe the information is valuable. Trying to decide how to handle this wire loom water ingress issue with the dealer and not just get blown off. Is there a way for us to see any of the recalls or bulletins put out related to our cars?

I think you need the new cover though. Else new resistor in the future…Lotus boardwalk currently has 16 Emira delivered to them. More than half of them they found out has issues with AC only blowing hot air. They ordered 20 resistors from Lotus to have them all replaced. They said only an hour fix.
