I received my GRP blue high flow air filter today and went right to installing it -- very straigh forward install, remove the engine covers, coolant sensor, MAF sensor, loosen two intake clamps and set the big hose aside -- then remove 3 small torx screws across the top of the airbox which allows access to the filter. The part I wasn't aware of was the pre-filter installed on the OEM filter - mine has 4,000 miles on it. I wonder if it's to prevent water intrusion to the paper?
The GRP does not have a pre-filter (which I'm good with with). Started but haven't driven the car yet, no CEL, etc. -- I also have the 3rd cat delete, GRP short shift, and MVC......soon a tuner once we figure out which is right!

Eagle 7 gave us one of his usual helpful posts, on the thread below, warning Emira owners that any aftermarket air filter, could void your warranty. FYI and it's the reason I'm waiting until after my warranty expires, before installing the Eventuri system I purchased from GRP. You decide or decide if you reinstall the OEM filter, before taking the vehicle in for warranty work. Good luck to all!

I think the warning was more towards oiled filters, or filters that let a lot of particulate through like K&N's. I installed my Eventuri without any worries whatsoever, and it's been just fine. It has an excellent, solid and well-built filter in it, but I can understand if someone wants to wait out their factory warranty period.

I had the same GRP filter installed and my friend had the K&N. Almost 1 year of use and no issues so far.

yeah same... haven't had issue with filter before. but just to be safe got the non-oiled filter from GRP
I also installed a nylon mesh pre-filter... cut to fit and glued on... Not sure it does much TBH

Unfortunately that service bulletin from Lotus a few years back was basically a reminder to all service centers that any aftermarket air filter dry or oiled would not be covered under warranty. That’s what I remember from the language. I don’t think a dry filter would cause any harm though!

FYI I had to switch to a blue dry filter from GRP because my oem one was dirty and they’re back ordered.
