Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

Admittedly i’ve lost track of all the feedbacks from this thread so i might be wrong, but it seems to me it turned “V6-only JB4 tuning”. Very little info about the i4. I really hope i am wrong and just missed the info.

Well how many people have a 360hp Emira? All in the US are 400hp.

China and US aside, all of the i4’s are 360hp. Here in Europe 400hp i4’s are still a new thing.

There is one boost pressure sensor that connects with the intercooler which is a pain in the ass. There are two ways to do it. I did it by dropping the AC pulley and belt and got access that way. I believe the other way is to drop the intercooler. It's not that it is complicated thing to do it's just it takes a little bit of time you have to drop the diffuser there's a lots of bolts. And of course having all the right tools before you start.

360bhp i4 after JB4 is around 420-430 bhp

Without E30, there's not much difference between map2 and map3. Map2 is quick enough.

So the bracket arrives, I go to install it, and it's a real PITA to try and get the bolts threaded in to hold the bracket. It's hot, I'm sweating, so naturally the first bolt and the socket on my ratchet slip out of my hand and fall down somewhere into the hell of the engine bay. So now I'm going to have to pull out the Quickjacks, jack up the car and remove the undertray to try and find the bolt and socket. Loverly... just loverly. It's now too hot to work in the garage, so I'm going to have to wait until the early morning when it's cool enough.

Next time add double sided sticky tape to your fingers jk jk!

Here's a pro tip for the bracket bolts that mount to the car:
- Have both bolts in and torqued up normally.
- Undo the front most one (closest to front of car)
- Angle the bracket and hook up the front hole with a bolt, keeping the rear bolt in place will allow the bolts to line up.
- Tighten the front bolt down with the bracket angled.
- Loosen the rear bolt.
- Push to rotate the bracket into place.
- Reinstall rear bolt and tighten.

Follow KitKats method. Believe me it can be easy depending on how that part is loaded. It took me lots of time when prototyping the part to realize what was happening and many back injuries later haha.

I also just lay on the sc cover on my side.

I made mistakes and thought I was lined up on the front bolt while threading it in, and got frustrated with the bracket flopping around, so removed the rear bolt. Only to hear a thunk as the bracket settled and moved. I struggled, tried to manipulate the trunk-lid to re-align.

Ended up popping the Vent panel off so I could see the bolt holes better and know where the screw was coming in from. Highly recommend that if you are struggling.
