Software update ruined track mode?

I have a v6 manual.. no updates yet. Are there any benefits at all to updating? I feel like I should just avoid it at this point the car is awesome.
The update being discussed in this thread only applies to V6 automatics, not the V6 manual.

Guys, guys, you might get better gas mileage

I don’t think the update affects manual - when I drive with the paddles on my v6 auto it’s fine.

I asked a Lotus service advisor, who I believe asked Lotus USA about the changes with the latest TCM update for the V6 automatic. This was their response:

"The change is the auto gear shift points in Track mode would now be similar to Sport mode. It would be apparent if driving part throttle, in track mode, with the gearbox in auto rather than manual mode.

If a driver is actually doing Track driving and constantly on the throttle with hard acceleration and hard braking, then the shift points are the same. Typically, only if driven on the road in track mode, where you may find the old shift maps holding high revs when cruising. If the sport mode maps aren’t holding the revs high enough, then manual mode may be desired..."

Thanks for getting this info. I'm much less concerned about it if it doesn't affect full throttle shifting.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I've had no issues with my Emira other than the passenger heated seat not working. I fear an update to comply with emissions might potentially cause future error codes. I do have to take mine in to get the seat fixed. I can picture the dealer just doing the update to bring it up to Lotus specs.

Does this recall affect I4 Emiras? Not looking to change Track mode
