Shift Knob Replacement

After talking to a fellow Emira owner in person about the knob, I think I may try to pick one up as well.

I like the size of the factory knob, but something a little heavier so the action isn't as notchy would be great.

I'm half-tempted to do small-batch production runs of the knobs I make -- clearly there are lot of folks who want a more satisfying shift knob -- but turning them on my manual lathe would be time-consuming.

Maybe I need to buy a CNC lathe, too.

I've had the larger Darkworks shift knob since early November and really enjoy it over stock. The stock knob shift pattern had rough/sharp edges that never fully disappeared over time. The DW knob is smooth as silk in the hand, the shift pattern is more finely engraved and I've come to appreciate the size and additional weight. The original is sitting on my desk and it looks tiny now to my eye. The larger knob looks completely OEM but feels better than OEM. Great upgrade. CNC Boot delete is inbound. Can't wait!

The bigger knob will obviously be slower as, not only is it heavier, the numbers aren’t leant over and therefore are less aerodynamic.

We have updated the engraving and calling it internally as R2 for revision 2.

These changes have made their way onto the November to current shipments.

The changes more closely resemble OEM in spacing and in font angle.

Due to the size of the knob, i decided that some padding was necessary so the pattern didn't feel tiny on the larger surface.

Still want a nice leather, non-ball knob. I hate ball shaped shifters, and I hate METAL shifters. Too hot, too cold, doesn't feel nice, can be slick. And the ball shape is ideal for palm shifting.

How about a painted knob, and with a few blisters for texture and grip?
