Painted Supercharger Cover Thread

I know I am resurrecting an older thread, but how did you guys "brush" the V6 so that it shows silver? I hate that it's black and I want it to match the LOTUS above it..

Thanks
Ryan G
You mean like this?

If so, it's really easy and I can help you. I just sent you a PM with my contact info.

I’m guessing you just sand it?
Yes, but I preferred to go the manual route. I have an electric sander, as well as a dremel, but I just preferred to be more precise and be on the safe side by not running the risk of over sanding or acidentally chipping any other part of the supercharger cover. I purchased this kit below on Amazon which worked perfectly because of its small sander tool and the variety of grits. Started with wet 800 and finished it off with 1500.

Does anyone know if there is a VHT or similar paint that is closer to the Magma red and also has wrinkle finish? Also, is it necessary or just preferred to media blast the top surface before painting? I would think it is mandatory for powdercoating, but optional for painting.

love this approach. this is great! would you also mind sharing the paint you used. Thank you

This thread got me thinking... so I did a mock up. I don't love it. I prefer the oem red cover.
