Mach5 Race Spec Catback Exhaust!

Also disconnect the battery when installing their valve controller kit with the non race spec exhaust to mitigate accidentally shorting the wires when routing. Or plug into the OEM harness last once cables are properly routed and plugged in

Good that they are now including the extra elbow pipe and hopefully a new clamp now
Mach5 added some additional heat insulation on the valve motor after I melted the motor. Not sure if this is now included as standard or not.

that’s a nice change. I still would hope they used a valve that would allow the same orientation as the factory one (cable exits from the bottom)

For the exhaust, Mach5's $499 was a no brainer as I was going to do a non-valved Y pipe anyway. It is much louder and more aggressive than the GRP Ti exhaust and stock downpipe combo. But again, who's to say what element (GRP HFC DP + Mach5 exhaust) predominantly provided the most dramatic increase. But I love it. I was driving with the valve open 100% of the time with the Milltek valve controller anyway and it still wasnt loud or aggressive enough for my personal preference.

I did get the $180 Mach5 Valve relocation kit actually site unseen...lol. But i figured that it would be better to have it and do one order with shipping from China to US and not kick myself when I would have to order it anyway after the fact. The better than expected tiny $43 import fee to UPS was already a win...lol!

Next projects:
1. Tillett B10s from GRP with custom pads from Lars in NY & Schroth 4pts (that shipping boat from Tillett UK sure is slow...lol)
2. Tune +/- upgraded CPC - hurry up US tuners... (you know who you are ;))
3. GT4 gooseneck & Vstein vented CF hood by Ocean Design

The post cat o2 sensor will eventually throw a code. All It does is some fine tuning for emissions. I eventually found that a daddy's 02 simulator did the trick where as others did not solve the problem. Light resolved

Looking forward to seeing the Tilletts with no airbag lights! Also let us know the lead time from order to delivery. It's important to know how "slow that boat" really is!

I would not recommend neither of number 3 after I have seen them in person.

I got the same exhaust installed today, and together with my Aerie sport cat downpipe...whoa, this sucker is both LOUD and incredible. You get a bit of rev boost as the engine is noticeably more eager to rev - also the Inokinetic tune seems happier with more free flowing exit. My pics look exactly like Docron's so need to post, just know that there is tons of space now back there. No chance of pyrotechnics, and everything is heat shielded too. I can't quite wrap my head around the build quality too for the price they are charging. This has to be the single best mod you can do if you have an I4. It will certainly make your driving experience exponentially happier.

On the highway there really isn't "drone" it's just in Sport/Race while you are on throttle you can definitely hear the exhaust tone louder. Think of a liter bike and amplify it deeper, that's what constant cruising throttle sounds like. If you want to have a conversation, being in a higher gear in touring makes it fine. It's definitely louder than my Aerie was but very manageable. I was listening to my stereo on the highway if that gives you any indication - I actually called Docron while driving to explain my shock of how awesome it was. Now, when you get on it, hory shit. It might be because of the downpipe also, but it's freaking loud AF. In a good way. I've heard the volume of decat straight piped V6 Emiras and how they shreak, I think this might be louder. Sounds incredible, just buy it...should be mandatory first thing.

I've also recently fitted the mach5 downpipe and valved SS catback system. Not sure how much louder the race system is but it sounds incredible for a 4 banger. Really brings the car alive and it's fantastic quality which was backed up by the lotus mechanics. Highly recommend

Since you have a tune now, you should definitely go for a straight downpipe, that’s even better improvement than the back end.

Ok maybe couple pics - you can see the stark contrast love how simple the Mach5 is. The Aerie is gorgeous too, really well made. It's kind of loud and louder can't go wrong with either.

GRPのダウンパイプ&チタンマフラーからMach5のダウンパイプとバルブ付きSSキャットバックシステムを最近取り付けました。

Aerieのチタンマフラーとどちらがうるさいだろう。

Would be great if we can get the different cars together to compare...
どこかで聞き比べをしてみたいですね。

Btw, I was talking to Ryan earlier and in your case after an ecu tune, your sport cat will not be able to handle the high heat. You will need to switch to a straight pipe eventually if you track a lot.

Just by looking at your original pics, it does look super vulnerable. At least Aerie followed more of the OE shielding box around it to help shield it. I'm shocked it didn't melt sooner given the design from your pics.

The new Mach 5 solves for this by relocating the motor well away from the core heat exposure areas (see pics of the valve motor location on page 1). Frankly, given it's a valveless design, it's only there to prevent the CELs if you simply disconnected it (which some have suggested not realizing it triggers errors).

Is this for the i4?
Do you have a video of the sound inside and outside the car?
The link didn't work for me; it says "Not Secure."
What's the cost?

Cost for the exhaust was only $499 (details on the first page of this thread), shipping was kinda pricey but came by air express (3 days) from China, no import fees.

Kaz should have some exhaust sound videos from inside and outside the car this coming weekend.

thanks. do you have a link to where you bought this setup. I like how the controller is relocated to avoid heat.
