As title says, for those that didn't know, you DO NOT need to pull the steering wheel in order to install aftermarket paddles such as the JQwerks madtrace mag paddles.
I say this because ALMOST all guides, instructions, and videos ALWAYS pull the wheel for some reason. I'm sure some people already know this, but posting this just in case, hope it helps someone.
Just rotate your steering wheel 90 degree, the screw can be accessed from the top now and there is more than enough room for the paddle assembly to slide in and out.
1) Turn steering wheel 90 degree so that one of the side is facing up
2) Pull battery to prevent accidental airbag deploy
3) Pull airbag by poking the retention clip through the hole on each side of the steering wheel, and disconnect the connector
4) Pull center ring trim (clipped in from 3 spots, you can see this with steering wheel removed)
5) Pull button assemblies (technically dont need to disconnect, so up to you)
6) Disconnect the paddle's wire connector
7) Remove the T20 screw holding the the paddle
8) Remove the screw from the backside of the paddle (same size as the tool supplied by JQ)
9) Install new Paddles and screw it back
10) Connect the new paddle's wire connector
11) Turn the steering wheel 180 degree so your other side is now facing up
12) Repeat steps 6-10 for the second paddle
13) Reverse to reassemble everything back, make sure your wires aren't in the way or catch anything.
DONT FORGET TO PLUG IN YOUR AIRBAG BEFORE SNAPPING IT BACK IN.
14) Reconnect battery, and you are good to go!
