Instant weight loss and no strict diet with Tillett Seats!

Hi @Steve Tillett ,
Have you managed to clear the remaining error codes, or at least figure out what they were?
No sorry, I am still waiting on others. Electronics is not my bag. Don't worry, as soon as it gets it solved I will be telling people.
Hopefully GRP is still working on it. Honestly, the notification lights on the dash are a thousand times less annoying than the marshmallow seats.

Mr. Tillett, please show & tell more about your custom finishes. Especially the blue seen in the background around the 2:19 mark :)

That’s a B5 carbon GRP seat with two blue suede stripes. I will get a photo because it is still in the showroom. I couldn’t find a picture of that one. Basically you can dream up what you want within reason.
The most difficult thing is matching specific colours when the customer is not in the UK. We do have standard stitch patterns like diamonds and a hex pattern which have a fixed price and a choice of thread colour. Leather, suedes. All of which have to be quoted when you request the design. Embroideries are possible too. If you go through a dealer for example if you are in the US. We will still work with you to get the panels specially made. Normally a request to Leanne at [email protected] is the best route and she can send you an order request form where the office will price up your request but we may suggest a local dealer if they have what you need in stock. Then the panels are easy to retro fit as they are on a thin composite matched shell.

Can the pads be made thicker for those of us vertically challenged? I want to eventually get a set of B10s for better support but not necessarily for a lower driving position. From what I understand even at the highest rail setting the B10s are still about 2in lower than stock? I’m 5’7” 145lbs

I guess it’s possible to spacer up the runners to lift it. The seat sits on a steel spacer at the front anyway. You could put an inch spacer under all four points.
We can do thicker pad set. We would use firm 1 cm foam. More than a cm will start to loose the specially crafted shape. You will get the edge creating lumps then.

Ah spacers would be an easy solution. Longer bolts would be needed I assume.

Yes, it depends on how much you would need it lifted but for example, an inch would almost certainly need longer bolts and make sure they are good quality. Use 12.9 ones for the M8 rear bolts.

on the photos it already looks like the headrest part is close to the roof lining, lifting it up by 1inch or more will make it touch it or is there a substansial gap still? Im also 5.9 and think the current setup will be too low for me aswel and will also needing it to lift up, however I would aesthetically not like it if the headrest area is very close to the roof.

Steven could you please take some pictures from headrest level or mid level up? Most pictures are take from above that shows the entire seat it the but yet have to see a pictures that faces up or is mid level of the seat to have a better view how it sits in the car. Thanks

That brings up a pretty good point about "room" for some kind of tilt forward mechanism. It would have to have a tight enough sweep that it does not hit the roof while pitching forward. Likey not possible.

I’m 5 ft 10 and shrinking.
I have it set on the brackets one hole down from the top.
We have models with lower headrests if this is an issue for you like the B6 Screamer and B7. Also the B8 and B9 have a straight back which sit you more upright.

Tbh I like the shape of the b10 the most, its just that the back part looks a bit too high for my liking (its not about the headrest size), i need to see/test seat first before purchasing but the trouble is that you have none in Dubai available. With regards to the other models, they look too sporty/racy to me.

5’8” on the top bolts with padding should be fine imho. I’m 5’9” and 1 down from top with padding will likely also be fine.

Headrest is in a good place too for that height, the clearance to the roof liner isn’t even a concern to me — if it clears it clears.

The B9 has similar low sides for a road belt and is the lightest seat we make.

Steve,
Can you expand a little more on the difference in seat/backrest angle B10 vs. B5? I do have the B5 in my Elise and I'm very happy with it. But being 6' 1" I barely get my legs on the seat in the Elise. Sitting higher and further back in the Emira, I'd assume my thighs will touch the seat. So the angle of the backrest will come into play.
Generally prefer a more upright position.
Thank you.

There are two back shapes. The first one which includes B6, B7, C1 and the B10, is where your back is hammocked, which is the best way of explaining it. The lower back is curved which displaces the weight and lowers the head and shoulders. Then the straight backed seats like the B5, B8 and B9. This is more traditional for a road seat so the lumbar area is straighter the hips move back and the head and shoulders lift. So with this seat the reduction in height comes from the fact the seat dome can sit between the runners and it does not need thick padding. We have not sorted the brackets for the B5 with the seat belt anchors, so for an Emira it's best not to use the B5. What you would find with the B10 is far greater under leg support. The seat has more kickup at the front which as you recline the seat comes up more. Luckily with the Emira you can extend the wheel towards you allot so this works well to keep the steering and pedal position balanced when the seat is reclined.
