Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

Maybe the part just can’t handle the additional weight of the car
There is no material difference in weight between the Evora and Emira. The Evora 400 was just over 3200 lbs and the Evora GT with carbon roof, seats and other weight saving bits shaved 100 lbs from that figure.

"Lightweight is to Lotus as four-wheel drive is to Jeep, and the Evora GT drops a claimed 71 pounds if you equip it with the carbon-fiber roof, rear deck, and diffuser as part of the optional $8000 Carbon Pack. At 3112 pounds, it's a featherweight of a modern machine, but a 718 Cayman only weighs about 30 pounds more. The last Evora 400 we tested weighed exactly 100 pounds more than this GT."

Sorry to hear. My axle also snapped. Thankfully it was an easy fix covered under warranty!
Which axle broke on your car? LH or RH? The one on Corey's was LH but I didn't want to make assumptions about yours.

A group of us are discussing offline and trying to cook up some alternative options.

All of us when we see Map2 know it’s just one click away from a good time, not a long time

I’m following this thread with keen interest. I have multiple upgrades lined up for install (including the JB4) when my Emira gets fired up for the summer car rotation.

Obviously, a broken axle is a painful experience that all of us would like to avoid. Maybe it comes down to driving style and how much risk/reward a person is willing to take.

Hey Gang.... Just installed my JB4 Tune last night and went for a brief drive. For reference, I have the 3rd cat delete, exhaust valve in full-open and the high flow air filter. Here are my "personal" observations. The install was easy, did it myself in about 30 minutes. I am running 93 octane and Map2. Up to about 3k RPM, I don't notice a huge difference, between 3-4k RPM there is a noticeable increase in power, after 4k is where it really starts to change. From 4k up it is I would say it feels "in the seat" like there's 20% more power, but it feels more "visceral" (best way I can explain it). It reminds me of a less violent version of my 2 stroke dirt bike hitting power-band when I was a kid. I wasn't sure it was worth the $ or not, until I switched back to Map0 (stock) and realized, "Oh yeah, there's definitely a difference". So, yes, I recommend. Hope this helps.

So subjectively judged, did it feel like the proclaimed power gains? I take any improvement over current delivery, just curious about some feedback. Out of town now, will install mine Mo/Tue.

That's very much aligned to the improved power band we saw on the dyno chart

I agree with this... my experience is Map 1 feels very similar cruising around to stock but by about 5k there's added urgency. I trapped 3mph more on Map 1 which to me says 40ish whp but I'm recalling how gains affected trap speed from my early 20s Honda Civic Drag Racing days. I'm 35 now.

Map 2 felt like a good added mid range punch can feel it around 3500 maybe sooner and then the top end 5K plus does feel like another big leap over Map 1. Much more aggressive acceleration.

Can't wait to get a new axle in and see what it traps I feel I'll be close to my original guess of 113-114.

I was really hoping a Stock Emira Baseline was like 110-111 though and then the tune was going to push it to close to 118 mph trap. Either way the car is already fun to drive stock and the tune absolutely makes it better in my limited testing.

For further power gains a smaller pulley would do trick and throw in some water/meth injection and the engine would really come alive.

Just dont be like me and launch the car unless you don't mind putting an axle in 😃
