Emira Fan
Yes, that seems to be the only ways they can access the CanBus, via OBDII, and that is how it has access to more parameters……I guess we have to get the drill out, given how aggressive the tune is, the more info the system has, the better……I'm wondering how they're routing the cable from the TMAP to the MAF that the instructions show just hanging across the engine for the V6. Also this is obviously tuned for the factory airbox. I would like to know if the Eventuri airbox would require a custom tune map, since it's airflow and IAT is different from the stock airbox, or is this something their unit is able to adjust to the same way the factory ECU can.
The JB4 tuner for the Lotus Emira utilizes CANbus integration via the OBDII port to access and manipulate a wide range of vehicle parameters, offering enhanced tuning capabilities and performance features.
Is CANbus Integration Only Available Through the OBDII Port?
Yes, for the JB4 system, CANbus integration is achieved exclusively through the OBDII port. This connection allows the tuner to communicate with various vehicle systems, enabling features such as:
- Reading and clearing fault codes
- Monitoring and recording up to 40 engine parameters in real-time
- Adjusting boost by gear settings
- Accessing custom tuning maps for different fuel types
