Dashcam for the Emira

I have something similar in my Silverado, definitely curious to see what they come up with!

They said they are sending me the prototype this month. Will let the forum know.
They plan to draw power from the rain sensor. I will install and test that with the water hose to see if it affects the functionality.

I have the prototype. The fitment does not snap in place and apparently the only thing they are looking for is a screen shot to check the camera angle.
Given the piece does not stay in place by itself, I did not have time for my daughter to help take the screen shot on my phone while I held it in place.
I am out of the country until 30 July, so I will resume then.

I also have the prototype which is probably the same as it does not snap in place. I did get it conneted but was unable to get the wifi working but will try again tomorrow with a different cable they send me.

Like IANC3631 in post #273 I chose a KAWA dashcam, but the KAWA Mini 3 Gen2. I didn't need the the versatility of the Mini Orb because the dashcam is mounted between the windshield and rearview mirror. The only view the camera has is forward through the windshield.

The goals were to mount the dashcam (a) in the center of the windshield for a symmetric camera image, and (b) out of my sight while driving. Since I can't normally see the dashcam, the fancy indicator panel of the PRO versions is superfluous. But I did want the improved camera sensor of the Gen 2 versions. So of the four versions of the Mini 3 available, I chose the Mini 3 Gen2.

Power measurements indicate that the KAWA Mini 3 Gen2 draws less than 0.4A from the USB port while recording with the WiFi off. The only indication of operation is a small tri-color LED on its left side. So a RHD car would be better off with the PRO version and its indicator panel.

Image quality is on par to what I'm used to seeing with the Corvette C8's built-in PDR. I do miss the basic data capture, e.g. mileage, speed, and gear, that could be overlayed with the PDR.

Just purchased one of these also, do you know if a 6” usb cable will reach? Seems like the smallest available size.

Do you have a picture of the install? I was looking at the newer A119M (Mini) Pro. Same footprint, but upgraded options.

I placed it on the passenger side of the rear view mirror and plugged it into the rear view mirror USB with the provided cable.

I believe Parking Mode wouldn't work since power to that mirror port is off when car is turned off, correct?

The USB cable I used is 6" of wire between the connectors.

Mines a 2024 and has a usb in the side of the mirror
