For me, the issue with digital mirrors, is the need to refocus on the mirror, then back through the windscreen.
I have only used one for about 15mins and maybe it gets easier, but for me, those 15mins were annoying as hell, given a plain old mirror works fine
What do people feel they gain from a digital mirror?

I'll eventually be replacing the glass with full carbon piece probably so won't be able to see anything, and really more of just something to do on the car. Plus the privacy tint it came with is pretty dark when it's darker outside -

This is the OEM manufacturer to lots of OEM suppliers...this is probably the same mirror in Alphard, Toyota, Lexus, I think also Escalades? They are making two custom units for me and Docron to try out -

They're shipping the test ones out in a couple weeks...it should work like any other mirror kit it's more just making sure the refresh rate is what they claim and that it's the mirror I see in OEM cars, if so this will be great

police (CHP in LA), cars who may be going faster that want to pass in the canyons, checking on cars behind when in groups, people are generally crazy in LA and drive on your bumper and wont be seen in the side mirrors...list goes on, yeah maybe just you (!) for me it's mostly scanning for CHP behind me and cars in the canyons behind me

Agreed, in So Cal it's a must. With that said, awareness is key when driving at all times. I personally consistently leverage all mirrors continuously whenever and wherever I drive. And yeah, there's the whole CHP thing too!

Lotus is very short and not too wide tho. I think only motorbike can escape side mirrors. I need to check my rear view mirror more often.

I havent installed mine yet because the weather has been crap and I will have to remove the rear bumper to install the camera but plan to do a DIY when i get to the install. @Kaz’s AV shop should provide some insight and tips on the install when they do his.

But to get started, you reuse the metal mounting bracket from the OEM mirror. I ordered a couple spare mounting brackets for Kaz and I which was about $40. You dont necessarily need a spare as you can use the one already there.

Power cord will be pretty straight forward, just plug and play into mirror wire harness, run power wire along headliner down passenger side A pillar and plug add a fuse into fuse panel and ground in passenger footwell.

Mirror kit from Korea is great. Supplier that Kaz worked with took my measurements of stock mirror mount to hopefully allow stock plastic trim to fit around mirror stalk without having to trim plastic surround pieces. Success! No need to trim at all!

Challenge will be where to mount the mirror's camera… the camera and its housing are larger than stock. We want to preserve the stock camera for the center screen for parking assist. Ive contemplated about drilling my license plate to create a peephole for the camera lens and mount camera behind the license plate but I dont know if the camera housing can tolerate the exhaust heat.

We’ll see what Kaz’s install shop does for mounting second camera.

I contacted them over eBay and they made a custom neck attachment for us - let us confirm the product actually works and is awesome and I'll send the manufacturer a note that others want to purchase. I should be installing it later this week.

As KitKat mentioned in another thread, the focal length change of an LCD mirror, does my head in. Tried one on a Fisker Ocean, before they went bust, and I found it dangerous having to flip from looking out the windscreen, to then adjusting the LCD mirror and then back again.

What do people hope to get from these LCD mirrors, that the current glass one does not give. I can see you getting a wider view, but is there something else you want/need that they provide?

I find the view out the stock setup to be...not that great. And I am going to be replacing the rear hatch glass with something opaque like lexan or carbon fiber so I won't have any view out the rear, so I will need a functional solution like a digital camera.
