How best to remove door sill plate and Emira scuff plate

Am going to swap out lower side sills on my car, I believe the lower door sill has to come off to gain access to some of the fasteners underneath. From my understanding the Emira aluminum scuff plate that covers the fasteners is held on with double sided tape- what’s the best way of removing it without damage other than dental floss or .020 safety wire. Thanks
 
I'd also be interested in finding out how best to remove them for future reference. It'd be great I really think Lotus missed an opportunity (or is perhaps holding back for future release) for a carbon fiber version, or even an illuminated version.
 
Looks like that you do indeed have to remove front and rear fenders…
