I've seen that claim often as well, and that's more understandable, though Jubu also seems to say that with an upgraded clutch and flywheel the problem is lessened - which makes no sense to me because that's not the gearbox. If anything, an upgraded clutch should cause more stress, not less.

Well, until we know more for sure, I'll be sticking with the 91 map. Though the extra power/torque of the 93 map is very tempting.

Yes. So maybe now you are starting to smell the bullshit. The Drivetrain has been strengthened on the emira. My past v6 exiges all had extensive upgrades to power and had extensive track time without a burp.
Those with worries about thieir gearboxes should maybe learn to drive before you blame the gearstick at the end of your knuckles.

To be clear, I'm the one who was saying (gently) that all these claims about fragility seem to be suspect.

Those that installed the aftermarket intakes said they had to drive the car a while for the ECU to adjust for the new variables over time. How does that come into play with the addition of this unit? Will you see the most gains right off the rip, or will this influence what the ECU sees and it will also make adjustments?

That is exactly what I was doing with my Exige running the BOE Torque300 tune and my FT86 with an Ecutek tune and it works just fine but not every octane booster are good.

If you buy those who are cheap it wont work. You gotta pay to play.

Here in the Midwest fuel grades are generally 87,89, and 93. So, I guess 93 it is.

Mine is going to be mounted with zip tie temporary if it arrive before the mount I can tell you !

Good to know this, and I hope you're right about the strengthened drivetrain on the Emira.

Though, being a good driver won't prevent the transmission from being damaged if the engine is pumping out more torque than the gearbox can handle.

Mate. I’m no driving god. But 5 years in each v6 exiges with engine mods up to your eyeballs, with thousands of miles in the track without a burp is enough for me to relax and enjoy the new found HP the looks of the Emira deserves. I’m happy for the cautious to sideline themselves and watch the “first on the moon” crowd crap themselves laughing with enjoyment.

Fair enough, and I tend to err on the side of caution, but will probably be in the second ship to the moon.

Either way, this is all pretty exciting for less than $1,000 you can fundamentally change the experience of this already awesome car.
