My understanding is that you could request minor changes, that would have included suspension, caliper colours, tire choice. but not something significant like body colour. And I don’t believe that and FE v1 car will be allowed one of the new colours.
You are absolutely correct…I was unclear in my post - I meant with respect to color. My understanding is that you could request minor changes, that would have included suspension, caliper colours, tire choice. but not something significant like body colour. .......Seeing a car with amber headlights at a factory tour is a good indicator but not 100%. N/A is not the only place on earth that uses those but we are the largest user by a huge margin. Unfortunately I have seen them in parts of Asia. Whether or not they were imported that way I can’t say. A more seasoned traveler to those parts could chime in.
You are correct for the light emitting markers. But the US requires reflectors that must reflect in amber, so they are going to be pretty visible as an amber strip in the headlight module or a hideous reflector probably glued to the wheel arch.I'm think I'm in alignment here...... yet request confirmation. The US Emira's may NOT have visibly Amber Side Markers (internal to the headlights). I believe that the regulations state that the Turn Signal Marker be Amber in Color when Activated, not when off. Thus you can have a clear Turn Signal Marker that lights up Amber when activated - just like the videos of the Left Hand Drive Emiras that I have viewed.
So looking at the Emiras going down a Factory Line may show nothing regarding the Turn Signal Side Marker, as they may be clear when off.
Any correction to this thought process would be welcome.![]()
I hope that also functions as the reflector so we don’t get the stick-on strips the Elise and Evora had. We’ve seen the amber side marker that is part of the headlight.
Ill be looking to get head lights without the orange - possibly DubaiWe’ve seen the amber side marker that is part of the headlight.
Same. Opening up headlights these days is way more difficult than it used to be back when they used butyl to seal them.I would have preferred stick on strips that we could remove afterwards.
If they’ll just paint the calipers yellow or silver on that one I’m open to take delivery. We’ve seen the amber side marker that is part of the headlight.
I wouldn't put too much stock in the story that Carbuilder was given. The dealer doesn't have unique/special access, and we're all at the end of a very long game of Tin Can Telephone.Funny over in the UK it's a complete new car in USA it's an evora so they got caught out says it all.

Yup. While it is the engine from the Evora the car is new. It’s a new year, new regulations, and just because you use an engine type from before means squat when it’s in a new car.The game of telephone is very real here -- from an engineer to an exec to a head of some regional operations to a dealer to a future customer to us -- leaves for plenty of misinformation -- especially when every single one of those people has a different interest in mind.
Don't forget the marketing exec and the PR person and legal. The first two want to spin creative narratives while leaning heavily on ignorance (their own and the customers') and the third wants to limit saying anything at all.The game of telephone is very real here -- from an engineer to an exec to a head of some regional operations to a dealer to a future customer to us -- leaves for plenty of misinformation -- especially when every single one of those people has a different interest in mind.
Careful..... public and published statements by Marketing and PR have legal implications (ie accountability) which is the reason for Legal constraints.Don't forget the marketing exec and the PR person and legal.
